Faithful: It is an RTS in the sense that it is Real Time. However, it is unlike what one would typically think of as an RTS in that the object is not to build as big of an army you can, as fast as you can to go kick your rivals. It is much more about research, goods and economy than building armies. You will need them but it is not the first think you ever think about.
That's what i thought. I wouldn't call it an RTS in that case. I guess it is technically "real time strategy" but it isn't what is traditionally thought of as an RTS.. it's more of a sims/management/empire building game.
I wouldn't say Evil Genius was an RTS either... it's more of a Dungeon Keeper style game.
Actually, of the last 5 games, I'm not sure any are what you'd call a traditonal RTS. You have a couple of empire building/management games, a Dungeon Keeper game and a Real Time Tactics game.
Earth 2160 was the last REAL RTS.
