bpops: ScummVM isn't compatible with this game:
http://scummvm.org/compatibility.php
So either they're waiting on the ScummVM people to make some strides, or else they must be working on their own virtual machine. Either way, I wouldn't expect this one too soon.
avatar
Wishbone: No, I would expect them to use DOSBox for this one. Why on earth would they sit around hoping that ScummVM would some day support this?

I don't understand why they would have announced it, if it wasn't readily available.. Thursday is for announcements, Tuesday for releases..
Well if it was readily available, it would have been released weeks ago.

I don't understand announcing something you're not going to put out, especially if all other game announcements come out the next week..

What I don't get is why not to announce games you're going to put out, like today's releases. Perhaps these games were last second releases. Anyway, I wonder if we'll get any new annoucements on Thursday, or just new game(s) next Tuesday without any announcement.
Well, we shouldn't get grumpy about those things. Guys are probably trying their best and things must be quite frantic while the service is still new. Let's just keep our fingers crossed! :)

We found some problems with releasing the game in the time we had originally planned. Sometimes I wish we had a time manipulation functionality to stop this type of issue from appearing. We want to release it as soon as we can, we don't like it sitting there in Upcoming and glaring at us :)
We'll have some fresh news on the matter soon and we'll make a site news announcement and put a date on the release. I'm sorry to make you wait such a long time but for us it's necessary to make sure the game is ready.
A lot of problem with announcing when games will be available is related to testing them and making sure they are ready. Some of the games in the pipeline can take almost a couple of weeks to complete of pure testing, we like to see the end screen to make sure the games can be completed :) We put a lot of effort into making sure that all the games get tested on all versions of XP and Vista, including 64-bit as well. This adds to the complexity, imagine our agony when we find a problem with a game we're about to release and then we work frantically to cover all bases, identify the problem/solution and then re-test! to ensure the game goes out. There's so much behind the scenes that it's incredible! :)
and then there is always the problem if the bug has always existed or if it is a new bug. :)

GOG.com: The classic Simon collection by Adventure Soft is hereby complete, with the release of Simon the Sorcerer 3D.

Well, it may complete the series made by Adventure Soft but there is a Simon the Sorcerer 4: Chaos Happens.

Well, I certainly apologize if I ever came across negatively, thank you for helping me understand

Hey, I'm not complaining.. as a user of 64-bit Vista, I appreciate your QA and testing!

I wish I had done it sooner or we had found a way to do it, to explain what is going on.
You didn't come across negatively, only eager to buy Waxworks and play :))

Red_153D: There's a duplicate word (this) in the first sentence of the game's description:
"Simon is back and this this time in 3 dimensions!"

No, that's actually correct. We're not talking about the other this time, we're talking about this this time, this time.

OMG, you're absolutely raping the grammar. I love it! :-D
GoG, I'm thankful to your commitment to finish a series through, but I'll have to pass on Simon 3D. Owning that game once was too much for me. If I were to ramble about this game...well...it wouldn't be a pretty sight.

hashishen: Well, it's good to have the whole series. Quite good..
Could we now have some of the Dizzy games from Codemasters, please? :-)
