Barelyhomosapien: It might be a good idea to bring this to their attention?
At the very least it'll potentially stop it from happening to anyone else.

DarkwingDuck13: I submitted a technical report about it, as well as posting the same information in one of the 2 topics in the specific forum for the game. :)

:D In that case I feel thoroughly thwomped for suggesting it here.
Don't feel thwomped. I had already posted the info in the other thread, but was seesawing on whether to do an official support post about it. You pushed me into it. :)
Just got a reply from Peter. They've already added the note about hardware TnL to the game's main page. :)

Transform And Lighting. It's a hardware 3D acceleration technique.

Thanks. I was wondering about that. I see from the wiki that it's old as hell. The article doesn't mention this, but is T&L still in use today or no?
It's one of those things that is now so common people don't talk about it.
In my case, my laptop will run a game like the original Unreal Tournament. This is because it supports software rendering and doesn't rely on the graphics card to do every bit of calculation.
Most newer games don't even bother, so you don't see the TnL specification as often as you once did. Back when it was a new thing, it was actually listed on game boxes. Now they just say, "If you don't have a GeForce 8800GT or Radeon 4850 or better, don't buy this."

As far as I know, yes, it's a standard technique, in use in most modern 3D games. I didn't think any non-T&L GPUs had been made in the past 5 years.
