Have to agree that a game from 2007 on GOG is silly.
It doesn't really matter of course, but I guess I had this notion of GOG being a nostalgic place preserving the classics and forgotten gems or something.
Tis a bit disappointing, but since you're saying there are already games from 2006 and the like, I guess I'm just late to the party. Oh well.

My vote for a 2007 Ubisoft title would be The Settlers II 10th Anniversary Edition. I'd really love to have that updated version of the game, and it was never sold in the US. As a remake of a 14-year-old game it would be a good fit, too, and probably find more receptive customers here than in the general marketplace.
As a more ridiculous suggestion, World in Conflict would also qualify, but its expansion pack (and Ubisoft's purchase of the franchise) didn't happen until 2009 ;) Making it DRM-free would be really easy though! (just install the latest patch)

jimbob0i0: At least with no DRM from GoG worst case if you had that email you could have downloaded the installer and saved it to DVD etc ;)

Yes, but servers with RAID arrays and tape backups have had a better track record than my DVD-Rs ;) So I'm hoping the rumored negotiations do go well (and not deleting until they're done is a good sign!), but I do already have it backed up in case they end up falling through :(
Nevermind, found my answer on Wikipedia.
The instant replay film director mode of previous Driver games was removed from Parallel Lines. Instead, the only available cinematic mode is the fixed-perspective slow-motion "Thrill Camera".

Too bad, really. I liked turning a meandering car chase into something that looked epic.

maxmontezuma: Sorry, but I think parallel lines is not good and not old at all :S But then again, I just played the Wii version some years ago :P

So wait, you played a game some years ago and you don't think it's old!?

xa_chan: Heh, no one of the "this game does not belong to GOG" actually thought that releasing "new old games" was maybe part of the deal with Ubisoft : "we grant you access to our catalog of games, but sometimes you'll have to release the game WE want you to release".
Of course, I don't have the faintest proof of what I say, but that wouldn't be an unheard of kind of a deal.

GOG has kinda said that in an interview before, that it's something of a give and take relationship. But it doesn't mean they'll compromise standards, just probably accept not so universally liked games like this one rather than concentrating on more widely loved titles or any other efforts. Which I don't really see as a bad thing. As I said, it gives those games a second chance. A lot of people still won't like them, but it's good for the people that will.

CaptainGyro: I don't get it either, especially the guy who said to get back to the roots. I am fine with playing newer games if they are available.I'm sure it isn't easy landing these games anyway, so this is better than nothing. Just because the site has OLD in the title doesn't mean they have to rigidly stick with older games only. I don't even consider the term " good old" as meaning literally old. Like if you use the term " I'm going to drink some good old beer" it doesn't mean the beer itself is old.

It's all relative. This game isn't new, so technically you could call it old. :P
Obviously we all have different ideas of what is old, so it would help if people were more understanding of each others ideas. :P

2-3 years doesn't make a game "old" :P Look at the other games around here, these are old. When you call the real old games "old", you can't call a 2007ish game "old" too. :P

Sure it does. As far as I'm concerned a game is old within 12 months of it's release, when it drops in price or when a new game in the same series supersedes it. And correct me if I'm wrong, but all of those criteria match this game...
On GOG, the correct definition of the word "old" is "old enough to be released DRM-free for $9.99 or less".

Slightly more specific, to remove some uncertainties.
Great, I played this game on my PS2 a number of years ago, and whilst I agree with other posters here about the game being decent, and nothing mind-blowing, it's much, much better then Driver 3. I enjoyed the settings and the feel of the game, plus the game has very little annoyances in terms of mission design and playability.
I really wanted to get this on steam, but chose to 'clear out' some of my steam games that are short, and ones I have to play. I like keeping my backlog very low!
At the right time this popped up on here, so this is a definite buy.
Thank you SO much GOG for providing a DRM FREE version of this!!

So true, so true...
