BladderOfDoom: They are promising that the game will be as emotionally charged as the first one with characters that we care about.
I just hope they arent doing a Peter Molyneux and lying out of their arse. The concole only thing is really annoying though. however the game is in early enough development that might change though and I would like to think that with the sequel being developed right now that Ubisoft will be keeping an eye on how well the first sells on things like GOG. And if they aren't GOG shoud send them the sales reports and attach the list of reviews and entitle it:
GIVE US THE DAMNED GAME ON PC!!!!!
OR SUFFER THE CONSEQUENNCES!!!!!

If there is no PC version ---> FAIL

ElPixelIlustre: If there is no PC version ---> FAIL

Exactly. I'm just guessing this really but I would be willing to bet the first one has received its strongest support from the PC market. So really they owe us. obv

SniperFox: They said they where going to make it "easier", which gives me bad hopes. The first part was pretty easy, I'm not sure how they're going to make it even easier.

"Press X to play game"? It felt a bit like that with prince of persia
Exactly, PC gamers tend to be really passionate to their games. The existance of GoG proves it.
Good news though is, that there might be a PC version! Atleast, gamespot says so. Nothing is sure but atleast there is a chance.
Even if it isn't PC at launch, it'd be silly not to release a PC port afterwards. Consider how much they're actually pushing the first game all of a sudden. Within a few months, ít's gone from complete forgotten status to being on both Steam and GoG. Is that a coincidence?
To me, that looks like an attempt at creating a fanbase for the sequel. And they're doing this on PC. So to exploit this, they have to make a PC port at some point. It might not be at launch though, for the usual piracy reason, but afterwards, probably. Guess we'll wait and see.
About it being dumbed down, I'm not too worried. Pretty sure I read that Ubi is basically giving Ancel free reins to do what he wants with the game. And judging by BG&E, he knows very well how to make a good game. I think he knows what works, and what doesn't. (Unlike someone like Molyneaux, who just tries to cram as many funky ideas into a game as possible, without worrying too much about the overall direction of the game)
Oh for the love of His Noodliness, don't you people realize there are only 24 hours in a day?! I need to buy and play this game, but I also need to eat, sleep, and work, to say nothing of playing several other GOG games that I've bought and not yet had time to play. Well, at least I won't be running out of great games to play for quite a while.

I just wish they would release it on the computer, I really loved the first part. Only few games have the story and characters that you really care about.

The game will just play itself. That's how much "easier" they will make it....More PC Elitism Less Console Lowest Common Denomination Now!!
This game keeps popping up recommended to me, yet I've never gotten around to playing it. I think I actually purchased a copy once, only to have the game box-case vanish before I could install.
I'll still behind on other games, books and DVDs D:
Simply brilliant news. Congratulations, GOG! (and all the lucky GOGers who never had the pleasure before now).
I've dreamt of this wonderful day.
Ubisoft just redeemed themselves for having used more and more restricting protections, big thumbs up for opening up their roster of fantastic games! I'm buying BGE right the way. Soundtrack included, WOW!
Hopefully without the copy protection it can now run on WINE (Windows emulator for Linux, supporting most games but the tricky part is always the copy protection)

Don't Blame me, but i think the game sould be sold at 5,99$. It's actually cheaper in Steam, and i buyed retail for 4€ last year.
It's a masterpiece, i agree on that.
I think $9.99 is fair price for this game plus all the extras you get with gog plus least we know it will work on a modern pc thats good enough for me to buy it.

Do you actually get the extras such as the soundtrack with steam? Maybe the GOG versions are the collectors editions, you pay more but you get more
well, this game made me just spurge another $30. I was planning on getting gothic 2 at some point, but I always wanted to play this, and Il Sturmovik I've heard good things about as well, so I got all three...... dang money.

It looks like it is the same price on Steam. They've had it on sale before but the normal price is the same. Plus you don't get the extras on Steam.
