I don't know... it could be the photos, but it looks like you have a relatively unpronounced area around the eyes (sorry, can't express it any better in English), which kinda makes the bottom of the glasses blend with your face. I'd say that something that highlights the eyes (black frame on all sides?) may work better.

The glasses are alright. There are hipper ones, but it depends on what you want.
And since you're asking for it, here's a rant:
Get rid of that beard. In 10 years you'll look at this picture and think "What was I thinking back then?". My teacher told me exactly the same sentence in high-school. He also added that beard stupidity is anticorrelated with your "popularity" (lady-wise, you know).
