i have down loaded a couple of games recently. once i have extracted the files i try to run the install app it goes to a small black screen and i can't do anything else. these are the first games i have tried to install so maybe it is something simple. all help is very welcome. i am desperate to play cannon fodder.

Sorry, run that past me again. "Once you have extracted the files"? What files? You're not supposed to extract anything. The .exe file you download from GOG is the install app.

Not sure about what's going on there, so i'll have to go with Wishbone's suggestion. Keep all the files you download for a game together and double click the setup_name_of_the_game.exe file.

Hmm, that site looks very dodgy. Best I can tell, they also have a whole bunch of emulated stuff as "freeware" when that simply isn't the case seeing as the IP owners are still selling them.

oh well. look like i wasted $3! will buy again from GOG as i love this game - learned my lesson there. cheeres for comments guys

When advertisement space > useful space, it is a dodgy site. I would also recommend keeping a close eye on your credit information for awhile.
