This board's suddenly been uncharacteristically angry/arguey/controversial over the past few days, so here's some much-needed levity to hopefully return it to the good old days.

And okay, that's an utter lie; it's not why I'm posting the link at all. :) I'm trying to build an audience for the project. It'll be much more fun/stressful if I know people are actually paying attention.
For those who don't like blindly clicking links, on that page I'm going to be writing and recording an original song every weekday, then posting it to the site. So far there's only one.

The theme sucks.
I'm yet to find a Wordpress theme that doesn't, honestly.
Good luck sticking too it! Considering how badly some people sing on the internet, I would not worry about that, kilometres ahead.
Are you going to Youtube everysong?

I like the clean grey simplicity theme.

Is there not a more... simplistic theme out there? Or I suggest you move to Tumblr for this kind of thing.

Ois: Are you going to Youtube everysong?

Yeah, I decided that YouTube was pretty much my best bet to build an audience. The sound quality is not ideal, so I'd prefer to be posting MP3s - but to do so would rob me of YouTube hits. So the plan is that I'll stick with the embedded YouTubes, and then on the Saturday of each week I'll do a round-up post with MP3s for the previous five songs.
The karaoke-style lyrics are kind of a concession - they're not really needed, since my diction is usually pretty decent, but since I'm putting stuff on a video service, I kind of feel obliged to provide something to look at. :)
Try looking at the Wordpress themes from DailyBlogTips, while not great, they are so far some of the best free ones I found. Which is why I use a slightly modified version of one of their themes for my site.
Well, looks like I managed the whole week (aside from a slight hiccup on day 3), so I'm pretty happy with that for a beginning. And I've already written two songs for next week, so hopefully I've started something that will work out.
Anyway, just a milestone update. Don't worry, I won't bump this thread incessantly; in fact this is probably the last bump i'll give it. Well, unless I do a song that's specifically GOG-related. Which is entirely possible, since I'm bound to run out of ideas sooner rather than later. Hooray?
edit: and thanks for the Wordpress advice, but for now I've decided to just put up with what I have. If the site starts to get cumbersome once it has more content, then I'll look at other themes to see if something suits better.
