"Lucasarts have just announced, via their Twitter account, that their reimagining of The Secret of Monkey Island, will hit the Xbox Live Arcade next Wednesday, July 15th.
The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition is a HD version of the original with remastered audio and full voice work. No word on price yet but I have a distinct feeling that this won't come cheap. As soon as we hear, we'll let you know. "
Better not be TOO expensive but probably will be.

Hopefully they will release it on the PC on the same day (if not earlier). I've never played this one, but this is the perfect chance to do so.

The PC release is the same day but there's a catch as always:
"Tales of Monkey Island tomorrow, Steam Releases (part one) on Wed, and then SOMI:SE next week on XBLA and Steam"

In some way I envy the people who've never played Monkey Island before, they are about to discover one of the best gaming experiences of all time.

So, there will be NO physical retail release of TSOMI:SE? :-(

They've announced the price for the downloadable versions though, a pretty damned reasonable 800MS points on the Xbox 360 and us$10 (or its "exact equivelent" 10 euros) on Steam

Buy it from Steam, Steam won't eat you that's for sure. I don't understand this forums people's opinion about Steam, Impulse or other services. Go buy your game where ever you can.

Bugger steam, I'm having it for the xbox!
Only wish you could gift games on the 360 or I'd be sending it to a few people
