Wishbone: I don't find full 3D to be well suited for adventure games, especially not with a randomly shifting camera viewpoint that the player has no control over. The method used in that video would work much better, in my opinion.

TheJoe: Seriously why not? Has EFMI and BS3/4 really affected everyone this bad?
Go play Sam and Max Season One (or Two) then come back to me. Honestly it does work.

Yes, I agree. Telltale's adventure game engine, aptly named the Telltale Tool, works extremely well, and fits Monkey Island perfectly. Their style fits many licenses very well, and I'm always excited to see what they'll do next. They've come a long way from making crappy CSI games...

DarthKaal: I wish LucasArts made their remake in the same way Eric Chahi made his Another World 15th anniversary: higher resolution, lot of details, but same artwork basis.
Anyway, this super-uber-edition test is awesome. I would easily pay for old LucasArts adventure games remade that way.

I wish they would just re-release and maybe add voice to the voiceless games. I'm impossibly negative about remakes. They hardly ever work.
I'm very bitter about the upcoming Metropolis remake, for example. The 80s version of Nosferatu is awful.
The Day the Earth Stood Still. Rubbish.
Games are no exception in my book, especially after playing that atrocity MISE.

I thought MI:SE was quite good, apart from Guybrush's hair.

Art style was bad, voice acting on the whole was bad...
It was just not SOMI in my opinion.

So you didn't like Curse of Monkey Island either?
Remind me to not ask your opinion about adventure games.
lucasarts twitter just happened to notice it too.
I was suprised they didn't use COMI as a basis for SOMI:SE.
However, I do like the look of this MI2 voodoo thing.
I'm definately more of a fan of 2D in my adventure games. I like hand-drawn artwork and animation, it usually has more character.
I expect I'll get SOMI:SE at some point, not even Guybrush's new hairstyle will put me off!

CoMI was awesome - are you saying they used the CoMI art style in MISE? Play CoMI again and come back to me....
