With this speed of life we see nowadays, every day of freedom is good for children, imho.

darthspudius: Is anyone starting to feel a bit old. Where is the time going?! :D
Time conquers all. I"m also starting to feel old.
My son starts school next Monday, but yesterday we had his "student orientation" session. So yeah, I started to get that "my gosh, I'm old now!" feeling. I'm 40, but almost all of the other parents were in their mid to late 20's. So that kind of added to the effect.

And then when I went for a run this morning, some guy stopped me and asked if I wanted to sign some petition he was trying to get "fellow seniors" to sign. It was all I could do to keep myself from punching him in the face. But based on the way he quickly backed up and walked away, I'm guessing the look I gave him had roughly the same effect.

So, to answer your question: yeah, just a bit. :-)

Haha. I don't know how it feels to be old but I've a feeling that kind of moment is necessary as you grow older.

On the other hand as I'm nearing my mid 20s I gasp when I see parents at my age, it's a weird feeling even if it's a rare occasion.

10 seconds back, if I use the Dagger of Time ;-)
From Wiki: "Ambivalence is a state of having simultaneous, conflicting feelings". Feeling old, a bit sad and proud at the same time? That was my experience when my kids first went to school.

Look at it this way - you've still got some wonderful (and tough at times) years ahead.

There is no better time to get married and have children. I reckon at the rate things are changing for me, I'd be too worn out from work to keep up with a toddler at 30+. If you're holding out past your 20's before forming a family, I hope you are doing it for some significant purpose like a fantastic career or volunteer work because parties and games as a major time investment is a waste of life. I've been married for 2½ years and things pick up quickly after 25. Reality hits your hard, bro. I wish I had started to get my act together a couple of years earlier.

At 23-24 you should start considering making "being a boy" a hobby only because the threshold past 25 might as well be a whole decade. Time to man up!

There are pros and cons on both sides of being a young or older parent. I see your reason behind losing energy as you become older but as you become older you've experience, stable economy and the likelihood you won't fall into a relationship that was doomed to fail. In all honesty, the biggest reason behind not being ready, economy and not wanting to is the fear of divorce as I know what it can do for young children. I guess we see things differently.

The Boddam lighthouse? I use to live round the corner from it. Great wee village.

I think that may be it - gonna have to wait until my dad awakes to be sure so will PM you the morrow (he lived there too - but is rather fragile now with alzheimers, my ma also kens!).

Edit: actually if you'd be kind enough to google a "confirmd" image of it (one you know to be the one you mean) it may even help his condition and id appreciate it !
