You buy games from Steam, but the DLC is only published on Third Party sites and not directly on Steam, so you can only buy it from elsewhere and activate it with the key you get from that site.

As far as I know this is against Steam's ToS and the reason a lot of other EA games got pulled.

Well, Dragon Age Origins is on steam and in order to make the expansion/DLC's work you need to make an account on the Bioware site and activate them via serial key.

That was before they changed their TOS. Google it, all the information is out there.

What section of the TOS is that? I definitely think having to sign up on to the Bioware Social Network counts as some sort of crime against humanity.

Ugh... when they added free to play games they changed their contracts to prohibit selling add-on content outside of Steam unless it was also sold on Steam. Dragon Age 2 came out at this time and thus was under the new agreement and was pulled from Steam when they sold DLC on the Bioware site and not Steam. DA:O came out long before that, also there is a GotY edition.

I was joking, but I don't think DAO ever won a GOTY, it's just an "Ultimate Edition", but I didn't know DA2 was ever on Steam, no loss though.

'winning' a GOTY has nothing to do with games getting a GOTY version released if that's what you were thinking :)
