I've been using it for a while (in beta/RC). Honestly it's more of the same: Slightly improved standards support, a little better security, a few new (or old depending on how you look at it) ideas implemented here and there and a little faster page rendering. Nothing revolutionary for sure, and that's fine.
It's not enough to make me change my choice in browsers (which is none of your fucking business thank you very much) but at least they're trying to improve. I just don't get why they can't seem to do better with standards compliance (only 20/100 on the acid 3 test apparently)? The other major browsers seem to do better with that.
They really need to start focusing on other areas like javascript speed, standards compliance, dropping ActiveX support, etc... instead of silly gadgets that most people probably won't use like accelerators or suggested sites.
Honestly I wish they'd just get out of the browser market and just focus their attention on other things.
Syme: I can't decide if it is funny or tiresome to see the comments about IE 8 making things slowdown from people who have not tried it. I'm leaning toward the latter.
And for the record, I use FF and haven't tried IE8 myself, so I make no judgment on it.
I'm going to say it's beyond tiresome. It's annoying and certainly not amusing. But it does speak volumes about the level of intelligence of the people posting that trash.
