This has to be one of the best first-party games I've played. Sure, the good-evil stuff is very typical of a moral choices game (Be an upstanding citizen or MURDER THEM ALL), but Cole is amazing to control, it feels awesome to rid the city of crime section by section, and I love shooting across train tracks and power lines, hovering through the air, and blowing cars up with Cole's powerful electric blasts. Yes, they designed it so you have to play through the game a second time to get both endings and complete the other half of the game, but the way they execute it makes me WANT to play it a second time.
Be sure to watch the Zero Punctuation review of it.
I just played a demo of it, and I completely agree.
The controls are very responsive, and a joy to use. While moral decisions are black and white, this is mainly an action game, so it can be forgiven.
I'm going to keep an eye out on this one, but as it is, I can't afford the $100 to purchase it at the moment.
Has anyone completed the game? What's the expected game time to completion?
I heard it wasn't very good in terms of how you can deal with enemies..
i.e. not a lot of options.

I finished it in a few days of heavy playing, only one playthrough though. I want to go back through as evil. Great game.
If you like it, you'll probably like Prototype as well, it's a more mature take on the open world superhero thing, with a lot more in the way of options and upgrades. I preferred it, but they're both great games.
It's like Prototype, and that's good. I've finished it, and I really enjoyed it. Pretty tense.
inFamous PS3 exclusive?
Great Game, pretty fun stuff one can do, but there are two enemies you cant beat, Water and Fences.....i hate those Fences...."sniff"

Ralackk: inFamous PS3 exclusive?

Yeah. The dev is a Sony second party developer, so it's pretty much PS3 only, forever.

It's not that there's not a whole lot of options to deal with enemies, your powers are conventional weapons disguised by being electricity. You have your basic gun, your rocket launcher, your sniper rifle, your grenades, and so on. I have no problem with that, but some people do.

I played through it a few days ago, it's pretty fun. Worth renting for sure, though I'm not sure if I'd recommend buying it because it doesn't seem to have much replay value. You could play through it again as the opposite alignment but the story/gameplay is not hugely different from what I can tell.
I finished it in a weekend but I played quite alot, doing most but not all the side missions and such. I'd say it's maybe 25 - 30 hours if you work on the collections and sidequests, you could plow through the main storyline missions only in perhaps 10 - 15 hours or so.
the biggest thing holding this game back is that it's platform specific.
it's not a matter of "which one are you going to get?" it's a matter of "do you have a ps3?"

I take it you don't have a PS3. Quite understandable you're a little bitter.

I've had plenty of opportunity to get one, I'm just getting a little upset that people think these games really compete, they only compete on one platform, otherwise all there really is is prototype. inFamous is riding on the prototype coat tails.

Prototype sounds like an awesome game, too.
I may have to wait for some kind of sale, though. I can't justify paying $100 for a game these days. Way too expensive.
