Bumping this. The ship-building engine is very impressive :).

Decided to back the small team even though I may never have enough time to play it properly!

Go on throw a $1 at them; what's to lose? :)
Goal achieved. 62500$ pledged and climping with 3 and half hours left.

Hell yeah!
This graph is just... astounding:

In fact this whole page is pretty scary: http://www.kicktraq.com/projects/seanpollman/kinetic-void/

Look at the number of backers on the last day!

The internet. Sometimes, it makes amazing things happen :)

Seriously thought they were not going to make it until I saw that chart. At that point, it was at ~ $17,000 on that last day. I bet a lot of nails got bitten!

Wow, I just realised that in the last two days put together they made over $32k, over 50% of their goal.

EDIT: They had $33804 and then gained $32724 in the last 48 hours. That's insane!

I know, it was crazy stuff. Clinching victory from the jaws of defeat for sure!
Hey, if anyone pledged due to my bumping of the thread, I don't suppose you'd mind putting "SirPrimalform" as the referrer when you fill out the survey?

I'd be happy to put one of the earlier posters in this thread down as my referrer, anyone who's interested let me know.

Well if no one wants me to put them down..?
So Kinetic Void is on Steam Greenlight and it looks like if they make it they're going to be making it Steamworks only. This is only a problem because they said it would be DRM-free.

Anyone else fucked off about this?

Kind of sounds like the guy just "doesn't get it" in terms of how digital distribution services work.

I'm not sure exactly what he thinks DRM-free means. Steam requires you to be online to install at the very least even if you don't enable the "Steam must be running to play" bit.

And who's to say he won't end up including that part? Even games that are DRM-free through literally every other channel are often made Steamworks for the Steam release.

Well he's still asserting that the game will be DRM-free on Steam (whatever the hell that means).
