... don't do what I did, and assume these are "Steam-like 75% off" sales. I put several of the Bullfrog games (but not all!) in my checkout cart, and a-l-m-o-s-t clicked the BUY button when I noticed the price was only 50% off, not 75%. Still 50% off is great, just not the 75% off I was expecting. I didn't read the banner at the top of the page carefully enough, which says...

"Save 75% when purchasing all games at once" (my emphasis).

Don't misunderstand... there is absolutely nothing wrong this, and if you want all the games it's an amazing deal! Just be sure to read all the fine print (or even LARGE PRINT) carefully.

I have a feeling GOG's servers are going to be EXTREMELY BUSY on Jan 2nd, so don't wait too close to midnight to push the button!
Yeah I noticed this too. If I just want a single game from a publisher, it will probably be better to just buy it as is.

I haven't got anything yet as maybe enough stuff will show up in a pack for me to get it. Thankfully the sales that are limited have a countdown timer on them so you know how long you have to make a decision.
I noticed that too but not at first. I already have the bullfrog games I want. However, there might still be some complete collection sales people can take advantage of. For example, I own Longest Journey. Well what if one day they just bundle Dreamfall and Longest Journey together? I can click to complete my collection (an option that is offered) and get Dreamfall for 75% off not 50. Or maybe they bundle all the deeponia games together, haven't bought a one of those but would buy the complete bundle.

There are probably other fun combinations that might work out well that people want.

Agreed. I had like 10 games I put in my cart (along with the couple bullfrog games) ready to drain the wallet. Then I had to stop and think, like you said. Maybe it's better to just wait and see what kind of bundles show up? Who knows, maybe they'll run a special that has all 10 games in the same bundle for 75% off instead?

Or better yet, maybe not all the 75% off bundles will require buying all of them to get the discount! We can only hope...
I just bought a couple games at 50% discount. Those games had been on my wishlist for some time, but I know I won't be playing them anytime soon. They were on my wishlist, but they were also low priority.

I am kinda regretting that I did not wait for the 75% off sales... but I'm just a cheap bastard.

Here is a suggestion:

Let's encourage people to buy at regular prices. GOG should set up a special "points" system for buying games at regular prices. People collect points for buying any games at regular/full prices. Those points can be used to discount future non-promo purchases. With enough points, people can even use the points to redeem games for free.

Then we would not have hold off on buying games on our wishlist. We would not feel that we should wait for promos and sales to buy games. We can buy games at discounts during promos (but collect no points,) or we can buy games at full regular prices and collect points.

You don't need to wait "maybe it will get bigger discount later!". Unless you want to buy big quantities of games, there's no need to wait for bigger discounts.

And I like that. You may buy games you want as soon as you have the money. Simple 50% promo is good, because you may plan your spending throughout the entire promo.

Yeah, I've noticed that ...

But I believe that if you buy all the games in a pack, it might cost you less then actually buying a handfull of them... So I'll still be waiting for the 75% and if I already own a game, I'll just gift it once the offer is finished :P.
If you already own a game or games from the promo bundle, they're not included in your cart. You pay the rest of the games for whatever worth they're.

I'm pretty sure you'd still get the 75% if you already own one or more games from a promo bundle. A while ago I bought a bundle, (I forgot what bundle;) at the time I already owned most of the games in the bundle, but I got the bigger discount when I grabbed the rest of the games in the bundle. I do not remember what was the bundle, but I do remember that I was pleasantly surprised.

Of course it works that way, it always was.

I miss only populous 1 from bullfrog package, and I have 75% on that.

In the current Bullfrog promo, buying 4 games is 4 cents more expensive than buying 8 games. So if you're planning on getting 4 or more games, you're better off just getting all of them even if you aren't planning on playing the spares. (If you already own some of them, though, the breakpoint will change.)

thanks for the info i had been wondering about this, if i was going to have to pay the value of all the games even if i owned a few.
a deeper discount, or bonus codes would work for me.
glad to know its the deeper discount, instead of wondering and then having to number crunch.

I makes economical sense: you get higher discount, but have to buy more games. Probably in every bundle there are some games you really don't want, so they have to increase the incentive to buy.

Best strategy: tick all the games that you want to have and compare the price of them with the price for the whole package and buy whatever is cheaper.

Since I already own:

Dungeon Keeper
Syndicate
Populous: The beggining

I already own all the "must haves" except maybe for these hospital, so I'm passing for today and saving my money for future 1 day promos, because I'm sure I'm going to have to save all the money I can...It's going to be, what 20 days of special promos?

And the "buy more, save more" promos are fantastic, I love them
