Wotcha.
I'm currently archiving my entire GOG catalogue to a portable HDD, with the setup .exes and extras all in directories. I tried setting the folder icons as jpg boxart, but Windows Vista and 7 are so fiddly with folder art and it doesn't scale well at all, so I figured I might as well try to make some large size proper icons for the folders.
To cut a long story short: Would anyone be interested in a copy of the icon library file if I were to go through and make icons for all games available on GOG?
There's some example pictures attached showing it with small, medium and large folder view with what I've done so far (with normal folders around them for comparison sake).

Actually, that would be pretty awesome!

Of course, that would be way cool! I wasn't archiving my GoG games because I couldn't orientate between folders, this would solve it
Right, I managed to knock together a crude photoshop batch file that seems to be doing the job just fine, so I can churn them out pretty quickly now. I've done all the games that I personally own, now I've just got to go through the rest of the catalogue and grab the boxshots. Should be done by this evening.
EDIT: Hmm, it seems I might have some difficulty for the games I don't own - for the ones I do I can just go to my account in shelf view and rightclick and save image as on the boxart - for the ones I don't own I go to the gamepage.
However I've just noticed that the boxart is different on the gamepage - the jpg has an extra reflection at the bottom.
I can get the non-reflection images by just changing the URL, but that's an extremely time consuming process considering the amount of images there are. So looks like it might not be complete by tonight after all.

Seeing all of those icons make me remember how much I hate the glossy type gradient effect that GOG use on the cover art. I wish they'd remove it.
Yeah. I'm tempted to dig around for boxart without it, but I don't think I'm quite that dedicated to the cause just yet.

The icons look great, +1 for extra effort . . . =)
You might want to grab some of the GOG DVD covers to make the icons without the gradient effect . . . just a thought
Edit: uh . . . not the whole cover, just the front image . .=)

Am I missing something here, or don't we already have something along those lines in the form of the gfw_high file that is in every GOG game's install directory?
So we do! Though mine's one library file with all the icons in which I can access without needing the games installed.
Didn't know the Game Explorer art was stored as an icon though, good to know.
Looks cool!
Don't know if Windows let you use pictures as window background, but here is how the lastest version of Boxer (Mac app that make DOS games in easy-to-launch packages) automaticaly create a folder with your DOS games.
Note that Boxer doesn't create the icons, but, at least on Mac, Photoshop makes really smooth icons, you just have to check the "icon" box when you save a picture and here it is.
Ok, it's just on Mac, but you may find some inspiration in it ;)
