It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

I like the layout... but there could be more features.

Andy_Panthro: I do quite like the forums style. Perhaps lacks a few functions here and there, but is still very good, helped of course by you good folks.

Exactly, good to see I'm not the only one ;)
Quick reply FTW ;)

Wishbone: What the hell does that have to do with pessimism? I don't think you know what that word means.
I've said from the beginning that I think GOG made a grave error in insisting upon developing their own forum software. That's not their core competence, and it shows.
I agree. I do enjoy browsing the forums but mainly due to the users present not forum structure. I'd enjoy it a hell of a lot more were they to implement a couple of functions just about every other forum out there already has.

Zeewolf: Well, seems like somebody got up on the wrong side of the bed this morning... this is an international community, and English isn't everyone's first language. As you should know.

I know, it's not my first language either, but I think I manage pretty well. But when you make a derisive comment, like lowyhong tried to do, at least have the common decency to have it make sense. Also, I'm on vacation time and I just got sick, which also happened last time I took vacation from work, so I'm somewhat grumpy, and for that, I apologize.

Hehe, The Princess Bride FTW! :-D
I'm seriously thinking of ordering one of , and perhaps one of [url=http://www.thinkgeek.com/geektoys/collectibles/a3c8/]these ;-)

Simple, basic and uncluttered. I do indeed like it quite a lot.

I agree, there are too many forums with loads of messy bullcrap all over them, seriously how many features do we need just to type messages to each other?

RahaMies: Another good thing is that people can't post any kind of signatures, which often are some stupid graphical s**t that doesn't have any kind of message, aren't funny/informative and take way too much space.

Totally. I think things look nice and business like and I also don't want to see signatures with 4 inch high animated images of every internet meme in the world. Or a list of links as long as your arm. What I hate the most though is people who put their computer specs in their sig in an attempt to increase the size of their e-dongs.
I concede a preview button would be nice, but an interface this simple with the BB code this cut down, do you really need one? <shrug> I don't know.
Anyway, besides the technical, a forum is only as strong as its members (snigger - strong member) and I've only been around a short time and I feel like the collection of people we have is awesome. We have regular posters who are informed individuals and we're encouraged via the Rep system to help those in need.
I'm also glad pictures aren't posted -into- the topic as when you want to upload a big picture, it won't render the topic unreadable due to excessive scrolling. Also we all know it would only take so long before someone Lemonparty's us all. :(
I have high praise for these forums, mostly for the users, but I really can't knock the technical either.

they should sell a can of peanuts with a picture of Fezzik on it..
I like no sigs rule, no smiles, no [img][/img] thingy, that you can attach pictures.
no quick reply does not bother me too much.
separate window for posting is also a good idea (makes editing a certain list a bit easier as well as normal posting)
what pisses me a bit is that this forum from time to time breaks url links and that there is no post-preview

Whoops I re-read the OP and I realised that he's referring to the interface, not the forum itself. I skimmed through it, and all I caught was the phrase "it's a real pleasure posting/browsing in the forum"
In any case tho, sorry if that offended you, even though I meant it as a joke

I've said from the beginning that I think GOG made a grave error in insisting upon developing their own forum software. That's not their core competence, and it shows.

The reason why GOG used their own forum software is because it integrates with the GOG user's accounts easily. To use say, phpBB or VBulletin would be harder to integrate with a GOG account.
i really like it, and gog's design in general.
its nice that they didn't just do something generic, but tried something creative.
Must remember to change that "last page of post" setting though...
Give us a few abilities, such as being able to actually find our own posts via a user CP and so forth, and these forums would be a lot better.

You haven't seen the "My posts" button/link at the top of the forum page yet, have you?
I like it for the most part, it still needs work but its functional and efficient (when its not having its occasional post losing bad moments)
Things like the quick insert of bold, underline and link tags appearing at the end of the message rather than the location of the cursor is the biggest problem I can think of.
Italics would be a definite plus, I like to use those to emphasise words and I don't think manual entry of the usual tag would work
Private messages would also be a nice addon but I don't think the forum suffers much from their absence
I've seen it, but it seems in my half woken state I missed an important word out of my previous state. I should have said, the ability to find *ALL* our posts.
