Elmofongo: How does that make any sense?
It's objective based, you can kind of do your own thing while mass armies fight. I dunno, I find it more tolerable than most others.
Not a fan either.
Left 4 Dead 2 is a lot of fun co-op with people you know. I think I'm similar to you in some regards in that I get what you mean by the stress of playing with other people, I enjoy L4D2 multi but I can't stand playing with random people.

Similar reasoning is why I'm currently enjoying Dota 2 but I'm just playing with bots, especially with some of the horror stories that come out about the community there (and in moba games in general.)

But yeah. I recommend Left 4 Dead 2.
Oh I totally forgot, I have some DEAD ISLAND installed, I'm a knife throwing alcoholic red neck exquarterback there, care to play zombie killing with me, we could play that as well...
The games I want to be multiplayer aren't online.

Does that count?

Most of my issues lie in trying to play cards with House Nintendo, who as we all know would be the masters of the online realm if this was 1996 and we all still used AOL.

Khadgar42: So, what do you think?
I'm game, if you want. Either check my Steam profile or send me a message and I'll tell you which other games I have and we may play sometimes. Since you're from Germanz, there will be no problems with timezones.
Play Civ 4 with some friends. It is really awesome and you can play it however you like. You can ally with your friends or just nuke'em. I feel like it's one of the best games for multiplayer and it isn't stressful, even if you end up losing.

I kept thinking of trying DI, though from the media I keep deciding against it. Seems a like it may be a bit grizzly for my tastes. I'm not exactly sure where my "that's too gory" line is, but it sure looks like it crosses it. Did like the L4D games so I it's not the zombies.
I like local multiplayer games, mostly because it doubles as a get-together with real-life friends/family. Online multiplayer with complete strangers, a lot of whom are teenage douchebags? Not so much.
i share your pain. i have tried a couple but never really got warm with them (players and games alike).
i was thinking about picking up monaco because i really like that game's premise though.

it's a co-op game about stealing stuff with a nicely unique look which looks very promising to me.

if you or someone else is up for it hit me up.

"Monaco: What's Yours Is Mine is a single player or co-op heist game. Assemble a crack team of thieves, case the joint, and pull off the perfect heist.

The Locksmith: Blue-collar infiltration expert
The Lookout: She can see and hear everything... a natural leader
The Pickpocket: A hobo with a monkey and a penchant for crime
The Cleaner: A silent psychopath... Jack The Ripper in pink
The Mole: Big and dumb... likes to tunnel
The Gentleman: He doesn't always wear a disguise, but when he does, he looks fantastic
The Hacker: Armies of viruses shut down security... a modern day warlock
The Redhead: Manipulative and murderous... a lady always gets what she wants

Play with up to four people online or on the same screen. Compete with others via daily leaderboards. Find out why it won the 2010 IGF and has been described by Rev3Games's Anthony Carboni as "quite possibly the best co-op ever."
I love them actually, not as much as a really interesting single player game but any wacky multiplayer game with a few friends is awesome, the wackier the better and less competitive the better.

If you don't mind playing with randoms I would just try to find any free games out there to try and join some random server and play and see how it goes. I would recommend against randoms though, it's so impersonal, almost even less than single player AIs.
I'll throw my suggestions in. Sadly, they're not GOG games:

- Torchlight 2: a good action RPG from the original designer of Diablo 2. I never played coop multiplayer, but if it's half as fun as Diablo was it must be very entertaining;
- second Left 4 Dead 2 - even though I prefer the first game.
Well when one says "multiplayer games" I think the meaning is multiplayer-only, perhaps with an option to play against bots.
What exactly do you dislike in people that you like in AI?

Is this a serious question?
