You know, I agree that Fish can be unlikeable, but he makes a darn good game. I had already purchased Fez on GOG, but I was thrilled to give him whatever his default % due was on Humble if just for the fact that the game is awesome and I would like to encourage him to make another game. I can only think of one other recent platformer that gave me that much joy, and it was freeware (Treasure Adventure Game). I'm still holding out hope for Fez 2.

I'm so happy you said that, TAG is one of the best games I played and I bought FEZ because I think I might get similar feeling playing it.

Having just tried Fez, it's obvious that he dislikes the PC as a platform. He certainly didn't put any effort into making a proper port. A pity, since the game itself seems to be actually very good.

What do you feel would have made it a "more proper" port?

For starters, stripping out the hard-coded XBox controller in-game instructions, and replacing them with whatever control scheme the player is actually using.

Um, I'm playing the game right now, and asides from the gameplay glitches I've found, they seem more related to the game itself than the port.

I guess. Of course, you don't notice something like that if you actually have an X-Box 360 controller for Windows (of all the gamepads I've used in the past 15 years, it's been the best, not to mention most durable, I've had).

I immediately uninstalled every game that showed me Xbox buttons in options and tutorial even though I am not using one.

Grabbed for FTL and FEZ! Yeah!

I already had Trine 2, I'm confused about the "Complete" thing. Steam says I already have Complete but I don't think I ever bought any DLC. Is the Goblins thing considered DLC? When I right-click and check "DLC" it says I have nothing. In the game it gives me the option to buy "Complete", which brings me back to the Steam page that says I already have it. Very confusing.

And I just got an XBox 360 controller yesterday for my Mac. Totally worth it. I also recommend "Joystick Mapper" on the app store... not as comprehensive as ControllerMate but not anywhere near as expensive.

Disable controller support through "Setup FEZ Launch Options" and it'll show you keyboard controls instead.

I suppose I can try the no-DRM version and see if it's included there... I wonder if I add the Steam key if it will automatically upgrade me to the upgrade version..?
