I spent around €1100 on games in 2008, of which around €700 on Xbox 360 games and accessories, the rest on pc games.
I'm planning on spending much less (€300 max) on games this year though, my pc is aging so I won't spend much on new games, except for Drakensang, Hearts of Iron 3 and maybe Empire: Total War. I'll also keep buying GOG games and the occasional Steam deal.
On the Xbox front, I don't see many interesting games except for Tales of Vesperia, Star Ocean 4 and maybe Resident Evil 5, but that's okay, I still have over a dozen of Xbox games to finish.
Not sure, maybe around 50 USD to maybe even 150 USD (hardly ever that much, luckily) a month and I need to tone it down.

I don't really keep track. But not a lot. Maybe 200 to 300 CDN per year.
About $100 a year. Although last year I spent about $200. I blame that on Steam for putting everything on sale.
250$ - 300$ a year.
Well I would say even spending 1000$ per year is relatively low if gaming is your only hobby, so it is fair to say gaming is not so demanding on the budget. Still I wish all new games would sell at 30$ point.

Not counting hardware I think I spend $200-$300 a year.
$400-1000 per year I think. I usually pay the full price for the game as I can't be bothered to wait until it goes into the discount bin and since I buy PC games I want to make sure I have them before they disappear from the game shelf.
I'd estimate around 300-500 USD a year, although this number will probably be dropping due to so many of my purchases coming from GOG these days.
I would guess about $300. Most of it on Steam. I went apeshit during the holiday sale and spent about $150. And I often go crazy for their weekend deals.
I've gotten a handful of PS3 and 360 games are bargain prices this year as well.
Hmm...maybe more like $400.
...Oh...and there was that day I spent $100+ on Genesis/SNES/NES games...
Wow, I threw out a lot of money this year on entertainment...
Around 50€ per month (mostly PC games and some preowned Gamecube or Dreamcast games for my collection)
Not that much to be honest. Maybe 200-250€ a year, if there are a lot of good games around.
If the releases are bland or not so interesting, I spend less than 100€ a year.
Only PC games of course :-)
I had a brief pause from PC gaming for a while and I tryed the Wii, but aside from the classics, the releases are all worthless. So i came back to my old love the PC :-)
About 200€ a year, and it's been pretty steady for the past 5 years (all of which I have been in studies, so the cashflow has been limited). But even now when I'm working, I don't plan to spend more on games.
There simply aren't that many good games to spend it on, and I don't have the time to play.
Even so, those 200€ are 15+ new games a year for me.I basically never buy new games at release prices. There have been only three exceptions to this rule the past three years; Oblivion, Orange Box, and Neverwinter Nights 2 (+ their expansions, I guess). All other titles are bought second-hand, on discount, cheap through GoG or Steam sales, etc.
To be honest gaming is the world's most affordable hobby if you don't spend a million on new titles for the newest consoles, but stick to easy spending, mostly on last year's news in the PC gaming market. I only picked up the original Crysis a couple of weeks ago, and got it at about 35% of the release price.
I spend around $200-400 dollars a year on games, but this year I will only get ones off GoG and maybe the Valve Complete Pack.
Hmmmm...I'd figure it at maybe...$300-$500 a year Canadian?
I'd be lucky to spend $50 a month on PC games, whereas a few years ago I was spending several thousand dollars a year.
I think there was an era where games were still more labours of love than big business, and that it ended not too long after Anachronox and Daikatana. Now I save money by continuing to explore games from that era (thanks GOG!), and independent games.
