I'm a member over at Abandonia, which is a good site with plenty of hard working folks keeping it going.
I'd recommend it to anyone who's interested.

Wishbone: What's with all the empty posts?
I guess it's a moment of silence :).

Wishbone: What's with all the empty posts?

A moment of silence was called for.
At first I wanted to post a message saying something like
....
In a lot of forums it is not allowed to post empty posts, but here apparently it is allowed.

I'm a consumer of Abandonia for many years now and for me it is the best of its kind.
For reference, you can access HOTU's content via The Internet Archive's Wayback Machine. The games themselves won't necessarily be archived, but the page content generally is.
This is a shame though it's been a very long time in coming.

Read it yesterday when searching for an oldie and not being able to connect to HotU.
Very sad news.
A tribute to old games is gone.

stonebro: Great way to boost rep: a thread in which you can legitimately post something with no content whatsoever.

Isn't that "general discussion"s sole purpose? :)
Oh noes :( I've tried to access the website few days ago and it wasn't responding already... I thought it was just a downtime... :( !

It's all archived Nico, nothing is lost (except the binary downloads, but there are more than enough other people who had basically built their own sites by mirroring HOTU). You just need to find another forum to spend your time
/me forms the letters G-O-G with his fingers ;)
Oh, indeed, archive.org is still here.
Anyway it's been a while that the download weren't available, as well as the games pictures.
Yay, found it :) and [url=http://web.archive.org/web/*/www.the-underdogs.info]the-underdogs.info Sadly the first years of it are not accessible. Keep in mind that there isn't any download, just informations (and some games aren't archived) !

R.I.P.
http://www.abandonwarering.com/ is still there, anyway....
If you didn't noticed before, HoTU will be revived....

Ah yes, I remember hotu mostly because it pointed me towards a still thriving ZZT community back in 2003 or something.
Thats great news, even without the legal grey area of links the site was fantastic for finding reviews for older games as finding old games you may not of heard of before.
