It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

First try and didn't get it. I will be back.

Rochard: I'm really not interested in the game but I'll gladly help you with your speed test. Will you get useful data if I keep doing the test say every 20-30 minutes? Got the entire day off today so I'm not moving an inch. :P
Redoing the test 3-4 times at different time of the day will surely help, but no need for retrying it every 20-30 minutes :).

Basically we're trying to gather as many unique samples as possible. Different ISPs / cities / countries is what we're looking for in the first place, so if you can ask your friends to do the test as well, it would be most appreciated (btw, only logged in users get a chance to win the game :)

You have me at "free game". :)

Didn't win, but I'll try again at home.

I think it's cool that you're doing this. Would have participated even without a chance at a game, but that of course helps.
Free, easy, AND without ST.. DRM? Just the way i like 'em. Thanks GOG:D

ErekoseDM: the link however has not worked for me at all besides the circle of infinite spins.

Venom: What browser are you using? And what addons do you have installed (any that could block flash elements from initialising)?
firefox 16.0.2
i am geared up with flashblock 1.5.15.1, adblock plus 2.0.3, firefoxAdKiller 0.87

i was able to get to the spinning circle on firefox.
i also tried internet explorer it wouldnt even show the button to start the test.
even with the flash updated on ie its just a white box under the gog bar with the search and community.

ill disable a few of them and retry later this morning, and see if its one of the blocks or if they are innocent in it all. i got some GOG data dl for the next 3 hours at least, and need to reboot the browser to re-test the link properly.

flashblock usually has a popup where i can click to enable flash on an instance by instance. (videos show up with a symbol i can click to enable) and the main button showed up with no problem.

thanks for the RoArk3 code assist Gonchi!!!

We don't have any visible flash elements on the page, the whole interface is in html, we just have a hidden flash element to handle the download itself, that's probably the cause of the problem for you.

You might consider adding gog.com to white list for all your blockers, as we don't have any external ads, and just a few embedded videos in news posts and gamecards (no flash content otherwise).
I've run the test a couple times on different computers (and won the game twice so far), but while I love to help out, I think it would be a bit more rewarding, or at least interesting, if your test would show ME some data as well.

I mean, who doesn't love bars filling up, but a few numbers, maybe some sort of hint what the different tests are all about... I expect GOGers are a slightly more technical bunch, so we're curious.

The test only collects very raw simple data, so there isn't much to show there.
It completed quite fast, and rewared me with game on first try. Thanks and good luck with improving GOG!
I didn't even expect to win. Thanks GOG!
Thank you, I was lucky too. And now the third RoA is being passed around like a drunken county whore...

Venom: As our community grows around the world, it is very important for us to make sure that your download speeds are as good as possible, in every country and for every provider. We're currently benchmarking multiple download location and servers, and to make sure that we have a good sample of worldwide results, we do need your help.
Thanks gog. I really need to start paying more attention to the stickies :) I hope that whatever data I contributed with my crappy internet connection was able to help.

Venom: And as a bonus, for every test completed, you get a chance to win a free code for Realms of Arkania 3 - so re-tryring the test from another computer or location increases your chance for the freebie. :)
W00T! Thanks for the free game, GOG! I would have helped you out anyway, but now I have further proof of your awesomeness!

As I said earlier, you need to disable flashblock. There are a few flash applications that it can't actively let you start, and this is one of them.
So now I have all three RoA games to play, thanks GOG!
