i wonder if any here have been playing a game i'm looking for. It is an old 2D space shooter, where you fly around the stars and visit planets where you buy opgraders, weapons and new ships. You can also take over ships you fly across over in the universe. You starte out with a little square with bow as you start ship. i played it in 1998 give or take a year or two.
does anyone know what game i'm talking about and maybe know where i can get it?

I was going to say Star Control 2 until you said your start ship was a square with a bow... now I have no idea. Maybe an old adventure game on the Atari 2600 if it somehow got mixed in with Star Control like chocolate and peanut butter does in commercials? :)

Wild guess: Escape Velocity -series? Havent played myself though.
