Hi GOG'ers,

i would really appreciate some help from some of you.

If any GOG'ers here either currently or in past have collected and played Trading Card Games (TCG), and this could be any type:
Pokemon, Magic, Soccer, YuGiOh.. whatever..

i would love your input on a short survey.

We are doing this in my University group as a preliminary market analysis, albeit vague and shallow it is still very useful to us..
the point of the survey is simply just to justify some choices we have to make regarding aspects and features of a device we are going to create..

I can't tell you much about the device, as to not create a bias (so let's just keep it at "it has to do with TCG")

and lastly, please if you have never been involved with trading card games, i would really appreciate that you did not answer the survey!! thanks :)

thanks in advance to all who choose to participate, and please feel free to share it with any TCG players you might know :)

I submitted. I hope my input helps you. :D
I still play YuGiOh every Sunday.
The comment boxes are very small.

These questions:

What would make you switch from analogue to digital TC games (if already, what convinced you to switch)?

What would make you switch from digital to analogue TC games (if already, what convinced you to switch)?

Could be worded better. If you are using one (say digital), but haven't switched, how should that question (second one) be answered? Also, what if you play both? Does switching mean stopping the other one?

Which factors usually determine your average play session?

What does this mean? Length? How often? Who I play with?

I answered as best I could.

This. I can only guess that they want to know what makes me enjoy a session. Even if I got it right, it's worded *very* badly. Oh well, I'm going to determine the bed now. Good night.

Done and +1.

I'll take a wild guess:
A USB interface that scans physical cards and sends their IDs to the server(s) running an online TCG? :D

Possibly an NFC device too.
Submitted. Like _Bruce_ said the boxes are small and there is a question that should be in survey: " Do you still play any TCG (analogue or digital)?" on the top of "Which trading card games do you currently play?" and that should block some questions like "How often do you play trading card games? " and change like "How many months/years did you played?"

"If there were a device which combined analogue and digital TC games into one experience, how likely would you be to use this product?". Tell me that you are doing something like Yu-gi-oh!

Yeah, I have more thoughts and comments on this but I presume that OP does not want this thread to end up with everyone speculating what their ominous device may be so I'll shut up now and actually go to bed (as much as my guts want me to discuss the idea of analogue/digital TCG hybrids).

First of all, thanks for doing the survey :)

regarding the text boxes, i am not sure how to determine the size of the box in Google Forms, that is my bad sorry..

regarding the questions:
Yeah they could be phrased a bit better, but we have some more in depth research later where some of these things will be adressed in greater detail - for now it's okay if we get a few vague answers..

and assuming you only play digital TCG, then in the second question we were aiming for an answer along the lines of 'what factors could contribute to you switching from digital to analogue'

and thanks for pointing out that we did not take into account people who play both in those questions, i would be happy with a commen in each those fields just stating "i play both" - i can work with that for now :)

Heh, that could be one feature of the device, sure... who knows...
Survey done, good luck with your device.
