I feel that it might be informative and entertaining to make our own comminity wiki. Users are already throwing around names that don't mean much to newcomers, like Ezri and Weclock. Plus, I always love the idea of preserving history, as insignificant as some of it might be.
The first entry should be about The Wishlist and how people ignore it because they think they are the only people to think of a certain game and have to post about it anyway. You could also mention that people putting suggestions on the Wishlist tend to forget the GOOD in GOG and put up some truly terrible games just because they are OLD.
Oh and some people forget the OLD part and put up new releases. Company of Heroes, Torchlight, God of War 2 (not even on PC *facepalm*), Kane & Lynch, Overlord 2 and NiGHTS (again not on the PC) are not coming to GOG anytime soon.

I think I just died a little inside.
Well it might be moronic to expect it from a game site but damnit I'd buy photoshop for 10 bucks
I say make the wiki, I look forward to reading my own entry
I think that there is no need for a personal wiki like this. Maybe we'll have user pages, containing user info, his games, his likings etc. in the next site update.
But the wishlist is needing some moderation, deleting console games and softwares. Modern games will be old games in 3,4 years from now. ;)

Granted, however when you see games like Torchlight in the wishlist which has only recently been released you get the impression that the person who voted for it either doesn't quite understand GOG or they saw it on Steam and want it with no DRM which again misses the point of GOG.
Moderation of the wishlist is badly needed if only to clean up the massive amount of spelling mistakes which means games actually lose votes. If the GOG staff are too busy to do that they could even get a few of us to do it over our spare time. Providing they are not oppinionated aresholes who delete perfectly good games because they don't like them.

That's funny though. A little bit off topic, but what amuses me the most is all the different versions of Planescape : Torment that exist on the wishlist.
- Planescape : torment
- Planet scape : torment
- Planescape : tournament
- Plane escape : torment
I can't wait to see those games on GoG.

Yes, I meant deleting just stupid entries and software ones. Still the problem of spelling mistakes, if they will count or not.
Overall, the number of votes will elect the best games for the site, like it should be; remember that a bad game for you can be a favorite of another person's past, there's a lot more for the top10 games than the LucasArts one's.
EDIT: Actually, I've liked the 'Plan An Escape, Mel Torme', lol, but I've voted for the right one.

Absolutely. It cannot be that hard to remove a vote for Planescape: Tournament and add it to Planescape: Torment. It probably won't effect the general amount of votes the actual title receives but it will cut down on new members being confused about all the different names. I mean I am looking at X-Com: Interceptor Is Horrid!! If it's horrid then why put it there? Someone wants the BBC Micro version of Elite... they want to PAY for the BBC Micro version of Elite? MS-DOS 3.0? The Typer Of The Dead? The ROM Of Macintosh 128k??? Windows 3.1??? FINAL FANTASY XII has actually got 82 votes!
No wonder the GOG staff just stopped paying attention to the Wishlist.
Does anyone know how to make a wiki without much hassle? I'm reading through documentation, and it looks like there are licenses and all that junk. Is anyone familiar with how to get around this? If there's a wiki dedicated to getting Linux running on the Wii, there has to be an easier way to make one.

Licenses may apply depending on what Wiki system you use, there are a lot of them, many are free and/or open-source, some are neither.

I think you need software like MediaWiki before you get started.

Lord, that looks complicated. I was hoping for something more simplified, like those things that let you set up your own simple forum. I don't really have the free time to dive head-first into this stuff, but anyone else is welcome to try.
