Hey everyone, this is Sunflower, an Administrator from Noobtoob who is also a loyal GOG customer - to clear up some questions.
There is no requirement of what to show in the video - it can be your face, being convincing about the game, or it can include gameplay. Whatever's clever.
Also, about the user who didn't have a mic - it doesn't HAVE to be your voice, as long as you have your friend's consent to use his voice for it.
Hope all of you have a good time doing this and enjoying the site itself.

lol, you really like saying F***, don't you?

hansschmucker: What does everybody use for capturing? I tried CamStudio, but it sometimes captures while a frame is still being drawn, resulting in untextured or otherwise corrupt images. Fraps probably does work, but is unbelievably expensive for such a task. WeGame looks like an alternative, but I couldn't get it to start recording.

JudasIscariot: Have you tried Xfire?? It has it's own capturing program. I am not sure how well it would work with much older games (like WaxWorks) but it should work fine on year 2000 + games.

Jus tried it, but no luck... for some reason it doesn't accept any keyboard shortcuts... Seems like I'm out of luck...

I think you can manually add the game and then configure the keyboard shortcuts. I assume you tried configuring them already?

Yep, added manually (had to rename the EXE to BS3PC.exe), enabled ingame chat, edited shortcuts multiple times, looked up broken sword in XFire compatibility DB (status:perfect), launched through XFire... but still no luck :(

And you messed about with the keyboard stuff too right? Because if I recall, the default controls for video and screenshot capture are weird but you can set them to be just one key. Perhaps if you try just starting the video capture it will work. Just trying to help you figure out different things. Hope this helps you.

I hope so too (and thank you BTW). The default combinations use scroll lock, which is a bit exotic, so I tried Ctrl and Alt combinations, as well as function keys. I think that it's something else. I'd love to start capturing before launching the game... problem is: how? There's no option in XFire and the keyboard combination doesn't work.

What game are you trying to capture?? With Xfire you have to start the game and then hit the keyboard shortcut.....which is a Catch-22 in this case because of the problem of it now working with the game in question at all. Lemme look and see if I can use the magic sparkly :Google: to solve this conundrum.
Try this http://www.zdsoft.com/ if Xfire is being a PITA.

You have to play Kingpin to understand.
Rgg, just found out that BrokenSword3 disables XFire, but only under Vista. Do you think, they could have mentioned that in their compatibility list?

Link is broken....
And there is no solution from Xfire about this??

Apparently not. The just silently disable it if the OS is Vista (or Win7).

Hey, that works. It's just a trial, but it works. Wish I had a few more options (like, do you want to encode with MJPEG or XVID and at what bitrate, ...), but it works, which is more than I can say for any other tool so far.
Thank You!
