Our holiday sale is here! You’ve been waiting for the chance to pick up all of our great classics at incredible savings, and that time is now. Virtually the entire catalog is 50% off from now until 2 January 2011. While most of you have probably clicked through and are getting games now, let’s let you know about the fine details of the promo.

Activision games are on sale until the 26th of December, so be sure to pick them up early. We’ll do our best to remind all of you via or Twitter about that, so be sure to follow us there if you aren’t for updates and reminders. Further, The Witcher 2 will be 40% off during this holiday sale, but the Witcher: Enhanced Edition is 50% off. Finally, there are a few games that are not in our holiday sale: in particular, Codemasters games and Gothic 1 are not included this year.

Our holiday sales are the best time this year for you to pick up all of the classic PC games that you have been waiting to get since you joined GOG.com; Santa also appreciates you picking up games on GOG.com, because that’s less for him to fit in his sleigh. ;)

Happy Holidays to all, and we hope all your gaming wishes come true!

Sure hope the sales prices are going to be correctly reflected in the main catalog. It'll be far more convenient than a special page that spits out the games in a fairly random order.

Zchinque: Aww, Gothic isn't on sale. Too bad, was one of the titles I was considering.

Still, I'm sure I can find [i[something to replace it with...

Gothic is in sale!
For example, i will buy Gothic 3, community patch <3, and in the store the price is 9,99$, in the sheet however the price is 50% - 5$
I think the server are sovrapopulated, so it's normal if there are some error in catalogue.

Sorry for my bad english guys, btw happy holidays!

I would love to get the games I want from you GOG but it seems that at random times I get the we are overwhelmed by the popularity of our service message, it happened when I was at the checkout :(.

grviper: Check individual game pages, all lists are just like gog servers and the checkout - hosed.
I managed to check out in the end, but it was pretty confusing and I still don't have my confirmation email (though the games are in my account and downloading the first one now). I never actually got to the "you have successfully spent all your money" screen, and the items were still in my cart, but when I went to try to pay for them again, it said I already had them, which was when I checked my shelf and realized it had worked.

Sadly a couple of games I wanted weren't included in the sale, but it's still an awesome deal none the less, and I now have enough games to keep me going for a long, long time :D

Thanks again GOG, you're awesome and I still love you.
Got the games i was after thanks GOG. Think though servers are having a hard time with everyone buying and downlaoding.
Yay, 30$ goes poof, nor order, no email, on items on the account. Happy holidays to you too, GOG.
Thrown a few games in the cart. Realized I went over $100. It's annoying that dumping stuff from the cart is possible only at checkout.

You can. just hover over it in the "my cart" thing at the top of the page and a "remove" button will appear next to the item you are hovering over :)
Thanks, GOG!
PS: I often see that Atlas-teddy ;)
Be careful while the servers are overloaded! I got the "too busy" page upon submitting my payment, and have ended up with no new games in my account, but an email thanking me for purchasing my new games, so I suspect that my card has been charged. I recommend waiting until things have calmed down before making a purchase.

Same here, but I didn't even get the confirmation mail, just the charge. Already submitted a support ticket.

Yeah, I'm amazed that GOG can't prepare themselves once again.

It's horrible experience for the customer, I wonder if other other DD stores have similar problems when they begin sales.

ROFL. I got the complete opposite. 20 new games ready to be downloaded, and no confirmation that payment actually happened. Going to the ATM now to check, as Khmer banks are lame so I can't check my balance online...
Well that's my wishlist cleared out - plus a couple more, in all likelihood.
