It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Hi, is it faster to download games using the gog.com downloader then downloading games using your browser? Thanks for taking time to read my post!
Last I heard the downloader was still crap. You'd be better off just using your browser. That's the way I've downloaded everything from here.
Ok, I kind of thought so. I found that downloading using the browser worked good. Hopefully there will be improvements for the gog downloader , such as faster downloading. Thank you very much for taking time to reply!

The downloader actually works better for me. It's fidgety for some though.
Yeah if your internet connection is less then steller then the gog downloader is better. Firefox would jack my downloads up for ever time the power went out or com went down
I use the downloader, I've not had any problems with it and it's faster for me, especially if I buy multiple games and can que them.
I find Firefox to be a lot faster and the top speed is more consistant but it can be a bit of a gamble, it's cut off my connection a couple of times while downloading large files. The GOG downloader speeds tend to drop and peak quite a lot (between 250-400kbps on a 4-5mbps connection) so it is a bit slower but still a lot safer, especially when downloading large/multiple game files.
The downloader has worked quite well for me. I've done it via both that and Flashget, and both have worked fine.
I've used the downloader after the first few games I bought. Not much difference in time ( I don't think) but on larger games with multiple install files (a good example is Painkiller with it's 3 install files) I find it to be better at consolidating everything and making sure I don't lose anything important.
My speed is about 25/mbps and it's not much difference either way. I usually go with the downloader just in case.
