Flashing animated annoyingly looping crap that most gif based avatars become is something I consider to lower the quality of a website. As such, I've never allowed them on anything I've created web-wise either.
no, your avatar WAS a .gif image, and I as well as many other people here, have seen it, a billion times.
Luckily, I have never seen the full thing. I adblock anything animated long before it can finish its loop =)

Its as old as the internet itself. I'd go as far to say if this place allowed shitty animated signatures, I'd go somewhere else because GOG would just become part of the back-ground radiation of the internet.

Unofficial GOG forum would be created. That's all I'm going to say if that ever happens.

This is about the only site I go to on the Net these days. I hate all the Flash/JavaScript ad-ridden websites that pollute the net. I know when I go to GOG.com, my eyeballs are not going to get seared by all the animated crap. This site is damn near Zen-like in its approach.

firefox and adblock for you. i haven't seen flash ad in a long time.
and normal ads are blocked too...
for example:
GOG's ad is the only one i can see on Rockpapershotgun... i guess gog is so awesome that even adblock loves it.
everything else is not visible.
