Gog used to include the patch information for each game on the game description. For example: "This game has been patched to the latest official version: 1.12" http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/jagged_alliance_2
Why does Gog not put this information anymore? http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/vampire_the_masquerade_redemption

I hopes this is because off all that new releases they are testing :D Imagine - so much work that they do not have time to include such trivial stuff :D There must be some awesome releases!!!!!

Probably because it's a bit redundant given that all releases are patched to the latest version.
It also may be that, with some games, the patch number gets confusing. If GoG worked with the devs (or on their own) to make a game work, it is no longer the same version. But if they put a number, it can cause confusion and potential bad-blood with other distributors.
ie. If I recall correctly (too lazy to check), GoG's version of Arx Fatalis is a newer version than pretty much anyone else. That causes confusion, and I doubt Steam really likes seeing people asking "When will we get the version whatever patch?"

They get that enough anyway. :P Games aren't patched evenly. The only means to guarantee you'll get the latest patch is through retail... or GOG, if you're the patient sort.
However, there are cases (or at least one) when the latest official patch is not applied, let alone anything new, yet it is not indicated anywhere. I know HoMM 2 is in such a situation, it hasn't been patched to the latest version (as stated in this topic), nor is it possible for us to do so.
Yes your right about Arx Fatalis, they patched it to work perfectly, none of the game breakers that the latest's "offical" caused.
Since they dropped that patch for there distro it sent a wave of anger though the community. But hey, you want the working version with far fewer bugs and no major show stoppers, shop GOG! I own the retail version and i got it, its far more stable and it works on my rig... has not worked in over 5 years!

I thought that all the patch did was fix how coronas are drawn. I mean, I still have the periodically destroyed savegames bug :p

Actually, Steam is the only one still using the older version; all other digital distributors offer 1.19 (or at least that's what their store pages say).
