The "Games that haunt your collection" topic made me wonder how many people just collect games instead of selling them off.
I still have a couple of Sega Megadrive, Playstation and Gameboy Advanced games lying around. Some of my PC games are still boxed in those big cardboard boxes and I even have my Megadrive console lying around.
My thirst to collect more has even become that troubling that I'm starting to look into second hand stores for more old games that I simply want for the sake of having.
Am I alone in having this itch or are there other people here suffering the same?

I`ve never thrown away anything computer / console related since 1989.
I still have my C64 with joystick and cassettes.
Still have my Sega Master System.
In a weak moment some 12 years ago I sold my Mega Drive though. But I`ve never been much of a console fan anyway.
I have a couple of hundred big boxed PC games in the attic (sp?). I look at them once in a while for nostalgic reasons. Just recently I checked out my Master of Magic box. Man.. those were the days.
I bought X-COM UFO Unknown in a big box from Ebay a couple of years ago. Cost me quite alot, but its completely mint and worth every penny imo.
So no, you`re not alone!
I don't collect for the sake of having them, but I do buy games (new and old) that I want to play. I never resell, so I have a bit of a 'collection' of games due to that.
count me in, all of games I have bought are still in my possesion, just some of them were used as presents to some of best friends.
I've sold my collection a number of times, and decided to rebuy everything...
I don't think I'll buy a dream cast again, I won't be able to easily find the games I want for it...
but yeah, I collect them. :)
It's a bit harder to sell PC games than it is console games... which is why I have basically all my PC games (unless relatives stole them) and have sold off console games consistantly to buy new ones
I don't really collect games as such, but I rarely get rid of them as they eventually become worthless money-wise.
What I do tend to collect are strategy guides. Many of the ones produced during the 90's were wonderful, overflowing with detail and often including narrative prose. The late 90's and early part of this decade saw strategy guides become very dull and unimaginative, but in the past few years the quality has become very high in terms of presentation and information (Piggyback guides especially).
I only recently (as in within the last decade or so) started seriously collecting. I've still got box and docks for most of my PC games and N64 games, though I sold back a couple of my N64 games on E-Bay to make rent and have regretted it ever since. I've got probably about 20 Game Cube games, 15 PS2 games, and from here I can see 27 XBox 360 games and 35 Wii games.
I do frequently go through discount used bins and buy games that once caught my eye but I never got a chance to play - though I don't often have time to play them even now.
Now I've started grabbing GOG games in the same way. Just downloaded Patrician 3.
