GOG, you guys rock. I'm not even sure what else I would wish from the "old days." Ok, the entire SSI catelog, but aside from that. Well, Armourgeddon too, but that's it, I swear!
A hearty well done from this old timer (in computer game terms anyway).
what about TIE Fighter or Baldurs Gate?
No love for Syndicate?
Dungeon Keeper? Crusader series?
Well, I rule out Baldur's Gate because:
A: I still have it
B: it's on CD.
C: Microsoft Virtual PC is free
D: I still have my old Windows 95 and 98 disks :)
Please feel free to not want any more games than Armourgeddon and the SSI catalogue, but your reasons for ruling out BG are somewhat difficult to comprehend.
A) A lot of people buy games on GOG that they already own. The lack of DRM/CD-checks and ease of installation is often a good enough reason to get an extra copy of the game (assuming you have some money to spend at the moment, that is).
B) So what? The vast majority of GOG games began their lives as CD-based releases.
C) Sure, but if you got XP instead of W7 you don't need Virtual PC at all. ;)
D) Baldur's Gate does not require either W95 or W98 to run.

Baldur's Gate runs well enough under Vista x64 and 7 x64 without virtualisation solutions, at least it does for me.
I was wanting it as a gateway for the other IE and D&D games, a bit more realistic than wishing for Planescape Torment to show up first
