We've worked our fingers to the bone pulling together interesting Fallout content to go along with the bargain prices and now it's time to reveal what we've gathered.
The bonus content for [url=http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/fallout]Fallout 1 is expanding with the addition of another great soundtrack and the owners of Fallout: Tactics can now download Fallout: Warfare - a paper and pencil wargame set in the Fallout universe! The bonus materials are available, after you purchase the games, on the “My Account” page. So if you haven't bought the Fallout series on GOG.com yet, now is the best time to do it as the 20% discount promo will only last until Monday, April 27 at 11:59 p.m. EDT.
Evil, evil people. Also, the Fallout-prequel Wasteland as a surprise release would kick unspecified (but large) amounts of butt.
Aww sweet! I was arguing with some friends on the existence of a fallout universe pnp game just last week.
I can't tell for sure since my laptop's sound is disabled at work, but I just DL'd both soundtracks for Fallout 1, and they look suspiciously similar.
Looking only at file sizes, only the Fallout picture changes from one zip to the other. Let's also note that the "original" soundtrack is supposed to be 62 MB large on "My Account" page, but turns out to be about 80 MB large in the end..
Slight mistake somewhere? :-)

Hahaha, you found a way to make me buy a game I had very little interest in. Good show.

Yes! Fallout is one of the greatest games ever, as is Fallout 2. Throw in the bonus of Tactics and it's a must buy.

Yep, it's broken.

Bear in mind that this is a PnP wargame concentrating solely on combat and based on the F:Tactics universe with all its (sometimes unwelcome) additions.
The fan made Fallout PnP might be what you are looking for.

first one is in-game and the other is original one

Maklak: I have only one word on it: GURPS - it can be played in any setting, be it fantasy, present, or sci-fi. And IIRC Fallout's SPECIAL system is based on or derived from GURPS.
The music is the same, maybe the quality of one of them is better, though. "Original soundtrack" is from a music CD that was released, "in-game soundtrack" is from the in-game music files themselves.

Checksums are the same as well, meaning the files are exactly the same, the only difference between the packages is the accompanying image. If quality would differ, the files would not be the same.
GOGteam, instead of confusing the customers and have to nearly identical packages for download, perhaps you should put both images into the same zip package and name them accordingly, letting each person use the one they want.

As for SPECIAL and GURPS, it's a bit more complicated. Fallout was originally going to use GURPS, but Interplay lost the license, so the designers came up with a new ruleset - SPECIAL - that shares some similarities with GURPS, but also a number of differences.
This is awesome.. new stuff is always welcome, but if the soundtracks really are the same, what's the point?
Maybe you guys could clarify this.
