I haven't played it, will probably avoid until its super cheap.
What bugs me about it is that they changed a lot of the mechanics of the game towards Oblivion style (which made them money then, and now. So that will be the reason.) But then they say its true to Fallout by just copy-pasting dozens of things from Fallout 1+2 (Enclave, Brotherhood, Jet, Harold etc..)
It just seems a little rushed and a little lazy.
And if you read the Eurogamer interview about the new DLC, they mention how they are going to change the ending, so that you can continue afterwards, which you wouldn't have been able to before.
-Dialogs were written by a 12 year old child. I mean seriously whoever wrote the story and dialogs of fallout 3 shouldn't get any job in the gaming industry.
-Vats system is pretty bad.
-Did I say main story line sucks?
-Fallout 3 were created by console gaming in mind.
said it before, I'll say it again, it's a bad fallout game, but it is superior to oblivion.
Bethesda had all this room to create an original story within the Fallout setting but decided to cut, copy, and paste instead. Is the Fallout mythos soooooo restrictive that someone like Bethesda could not create something original??
They need to fire their current writers and get someone who can actually cobble a story within a given framework. I have seen better slashfic than this.

wich is why fallout fans are pissed off, they didn't want an improved oblivion but an improved fallout.
i completely agree with you, moonfear

Bethesda isn't done whoring out their latest engine. Once they make another Fallout this one will seem like an effing masterpiece.
Fallout 4: No Stats No Story No Point! Coming Soon to a Game Retailer near you!!

Shala: Fallout 3's a good game, don't get me wrong. On it's own it's fine. But... I believe I would have a lot less of a problem with Fallout 3 if there was no "3" involved. Possibly as a Fallout : <Subtitle here>.

I'm glad that all of us agree that the title is the most important thing in a game. It's not about game system or level design, art direction or writing, it's not about character development or making people use their brains, it's all about naming.

Eh, what about them?? Read too much slashfic lately, hmmmmm?
You are all talking about RPG system and how skills are useless, because you can do everything in the end...
Shala used Oblivion as his example, he was talking about how he was running around and slaughtering enemies with the sword... So why the heck did you do it if you disliked it?
Yeah, Fallout 3's system IS inferior to Fallout 1 and 2 systems, but you can make it much more fun with little self-discipline - you tag skills in the beggining, thus set some direction you want your character to develop - GO for it and just screw other skills. You wanna use small guns till the end of the game? Never put a single point into Heavy or Energy weapons then... It's called 'role playing', you know, something you and you alone should force upon yourself... Stop taking the game as a collection of stats and attributes and start thinking of it as of a world - yeah, I know, Bethseda's writing doesn't really help do that compared to old Fallouts, but it's solid nevertheless....
then I can install F.E.A.R and roleplay there, finishing game just with one gun, and with better story, at least I enjoy alma more than "father", with better AI, with better enemies and with nearly same roleplaying posibilities.
Oh, and with less bugs.
//edit: tag skill... tag skill.... you mean chose which one will be little more effective in vault 101? Because on lvl 2 or 3 all tagged skills are equal to untagged.

Wazza: Well.. it is a bug feast. I keep crashing out to desktop, the people in megaton can all die due to placement issues, quests can be stuck uncompletable and there are a hundred of little issues.
I still enjoy the game though, and looking at the official forum's mod section I think the game will only get better.

Well, to be fair, Fallout 1 and 2 both had a lot of bugs when they went out (some still remains after the patches). And if what you said is true, Fallout 3 suffers from similar glitches (items impossible to pick up, NPC that randomly dies, quest impossible to finish, etc.)

Well, if that would mean more fun for you - I don't see a reason you shouldn't.... (yes, I know you were being ironic)
I've finished Prey without using revive-ability, as well as Bioshock without vita-chambers (that's before they coud have been turned off)
What I'm saying is, if you don't like a feature, don't use it, if you don't like a system, change it - doesn't matter if it's just in your head, it's still different - and it's your own fault if you can't
