Rather well done for such a low budget. I'll make a note to follow it.
They really need to work on having their voices not bleed into the background track/ambience so much! Could hardly hear what they were saying.
It's amazing what they did with such a low budget.
Of course, the acting is kinda amateur and the CP masks' CG was pretty... weird but it's still amazing.

Amazing video... I'm never a fan of these fan-made films, but this is pretty well made, as far as an indie short film goes. I saw this when I logged into Steam, and I saw it. Pretty fitting, as I was about to play Half Life 2!
I thought it's pretty cool. I'm not big on HL2, but the video looks good and has re-sparked my interest to carry on from where I last left off in HL2
Agree that the acting isn't fantastic, but hey it's better than what you get on TV these days
Incredible video. They should give them money to make a feature movie out of it.

What do you get on TV these days? Well, except 24?

Lost, Heroes, House, Terminator: The Milking Connor Chronicles...list goes on
I like House though ;)

I like House too. Nothing beats watching an arrogant ass save people's lives for an hour.
In fact they don't produce shows like they used to. Bad acting and piss poor plots are only half of the story. As much as I like 24 (and it still happens to be my favourite series), I can't help but think that the latest seasons just aren't as good as Season 1
While we're at this topic, have you watched a certain show with browncoats? Probably the best show ever made for TV, and, very sadly, probably never will be again *sigh*
Back on topic, when I watched Escape from City 17, the first thing that came to my mind was the Terminator series. Can't say much about acting, but I really liked the cinematography

The acting was OK... and the SFX is pretty good for a budget of $500. Reminds me of the low budget for the excellent indie film Primer. You must see it.

Interesting. I'm not huge on indie films, but Primer looks like an interesting concept. Even more impressive is the crew - done by only only 2 guys, one of whom takes up the role of director, producer and scriptwriter
Thanks for sharing, I'll watch this later when I have the time
