Alright, my photoshop skill is not eggxcellent, but I tried this one :

Not sure that I qualify with the requirement stated above since I do not paint real egg.

Spent the last two hours trying to get a good rendered egg in blender, with a proper setting and everything. You know, it'd be far, FAR easier if I'd know how to handle that damned beast. :p
I'll likely need till Monday, if I manage to make it at all. It's not the lack of trying though, but the lacking knowledge, practice and artistic skill ;)
I had a decent egg shaped model, but I completely failed at trying to apply a proper texture to it :/

Try GMax or TrueSpace. Both free and much easier to handle.
