CAN ANYBODY HELP PLEASE!!!
Though not featured on this site, the game "sensible world of soccer97-98", is one of my all time favourites which i recentley downloaded. Problem is it has to be run from dos mode which is fine but how on earth do i get the game to recognise my joypad. I'm using the logitech precision gamepad, i've tried this in dosbox, but the game refuses to recognise it. I've tried binding the gamepad to the keyboard but have no sucsess. Pleeeeeeeeease can anybody help as i'm useless with the keyboard i admit and i love this game. Any suggestions,comments or help will be much appreciated.

You'll probably need one of the DOSBOX nightly builds... I'll look it up for you. You'll definately need to enable the joypad in the dosbox config file.

You might want to go to the DOSBox website and look around in there for the settings for binding a gamepad. I never used a gamepad in DOSBox but I'm sure you can find your answer there.

OK, just tried it with the most recent 0.72 version and it seems like it is now included in the normal built. I'm not sure I changed anything in the config, so let me just post the relevant section so you can check if there's any difference:
[joystick]
joysticktype=auto
timed=true
autofire=false
swap34=false
buttonwrap=true
If everything works, DOSBOX should announce your gamepad's name during startup. If it does and the game still doesn't work: Look for a setup.exe or something like that, maybe the game itself needs to be configured for gamepad use.... or maybe it doesn't support joysticks at all.

Have you tried "Pinnacle Game Profiler" - I've got a copy and it's pretty easy to use (it must be - I can make it work!)
I know that hard-line PC gamers would rather suffer repetetive strain injury and arthritis from using the keyboard/mouse than try using a game controller but personally I'd rather use a controller where appropriate..
Another snag that might cause some PC users to choke on their cornflakes is that the profiler is not free (after a trial period) but if it makes your favourite game work it's probably worth it.
