I've been playing co-op campaign with Barelyhomosapien and the game's just so much fun... Take Dawn of War, replace base building with Diablo and you'll get addictiveness of that game.

It's more than a bit frustrating missing out on a game I've been looking forward to for years because my bloody motherboard went tits up necessitaing a replacement of the entire machine. Thats the kind of thing that'll take me months to save for...

I won't be getting it. Like Fear 2 it also requires a Steam account. And instead of being under "System Requirements" in it the smallest small print ever... Almost as if they realised people would not like it.

It requires Steam? No thanks then. The way Fenixp described the game made it sound awesome but Steam requirements killed it for me.

I think they've always felt like they got burned by the fact that Company of Heroes was so pirated, it was huge in China. So I guess Steam is their way of dealing with that problem.

It's too bad really. But what can I do? I will just play other games that are not shackled to Steam as long as I can before Steam infects every game that will ever come out.

I'm not a great fan of steam but mostly because I don't see the point in running an app that I'll never use the features of. For DOW2 & Empire Total War I'd be tossing that concern aside because there'd actually be a game I felt was worth putting up with it for.
Damn I need to save for a game computer ASAP...

It's not just Steam, it even requires Games for windows LIVE to run, which is absolutely pointless :-/ But since I have both on my computer already(Steam cause I like Steam and GFWL cause I have Vista :D ), I didn't really care that much.

I got the game and I am wanting to love the game but something is missing in this game. I did like first Dawn of War's game system and try to get used to DoW 2. And finally Steam is a lot better than f***ing GFWL.

Hehe don't tempt me mate, I'm already on a diet and I don't drink (other than pepsi & orange juice), I can't really cut down much more. That one game and the lack of computer to play it on has already made me commit to taking a tax assessors course that I'm not that interested in because an 85% mark means instant employment and I really need the cash.
How are the Tyranids to play?

dawn of war 2 is a highly addive game to play and some of you would burn it on a small matter of steam the very small minded of you

Burn it? no. Buy it and crack it so I can play without steam? Yes (if possible)

well tbh i'm getting a tad fed up of people shunning games just cos they use steam steam is not that bad you know what the alturnaives are.
as for the nids they're great fun a cool swarm race lots of fun monsters great for multiplayer however i like orks and space marines better tbh

Steam isn't a make or break issue for me, it's a minor annoyance that I'll put up with if I fond something of sufficient quality. The only steam game I have is HL2 and frankly I thought that was crap so steam isn't on any of my machines

Valve and Steam is future of PC gaming you must learn this, I cant understand the people who blames Valve for Steam. You must shout at Microsoft for GFWL madness. It is pointless and their support is terrible too. You can look at official GFWL forums. GFWL developers even dont know how GFWL is working. This is so sad for PC gaming, this is pc not console like Xbox...
