Next week marks the release of another game from JoWood - The Guild: Gold Edition.
The Gold Edition consists of the original game - Europa 1400: The Guild and its expansion pack. It's an economical strategy game with a touch of RPG. It is the year 1400, when the nobility's influence dwindles more and more, in favor of the increasingly rich and powerful merchants and businessmen. You are one of the latter and there is much to be done. Create your character and reach a specific goal, which can be anything from survival, through earning a certain amount of money, to building a respected and powerful dynasty. A must-have for anyone with a flare for business.
Splendid news for any strategy lover. One of the best business simulations I've ever played. It has all one can dream about - simple but decent business model, some RPG elements affecting the character's activities, relationships between people, council roles, and, what is best, most of the items created are not mere comodity, but they can actually be used - often to harm one of your oponenets in some indirect way.
Can't wait to do proper review once it's available. Too bad the sequel was such a dissapointment.
i think i remember reading about this one... that you could start rumors about other people, or plant evidence against them?
That sounded kinda fun...
W00t! Gimme, gimme, gimme! Looking forward to next week. :)
And it has the best goals you can think of. There is no other game where you can win by marrying and divorcing four women. Or men. :-)
Pretty fun game, wondering if you can play online in this version.
i Got Guild 2 this week and i am enjoying that greatly. If the 1st is half as good as the sequal we are all in for a big treat.
This is one of those odd game that I've heard of, but know nothing about, and for some reason, I want.

Guild 2 is, in my opinion, piece of crap. I've bought it, really tried to like it, but it carefully inovated everything that has been good on the original and only added things that are annoying. I eventually sold the game to second hand shop for 1/7 the original price :/
edit:
sorry i meant to bump twitter contest
