True, but many people stick with their old analog TVs. Anyway, I said that in my opinion the DVD format with its overall better picture quality and special support for widescreen TVs made the HDTV era possible (yes, I know that DVDs are not HDTV, except for widescreen DVDs which are somewhere in between, but it made people aware that their TV's image quality was limited). Or at least dramatically increased adoption speed. The Wii is not really hindering adoption, but if it was HD, that could speed up adoption even further.
