As the title says, I'm looking for a wireless card for my PC. Right now I'm using a USB dongle but to call it 'slow' would be an understatement. Apparently a PCI card would give better results, so I turn once more to my fellow GOGites to bless me with their wisdom. Are there any specific cards to recommend or avoid like the plague?

My budget's ceiling is £20. Frankly, I don't really want to pay more than £15 unless I really, really need to, and the closer it is to 10 the happier I'll be. I don't need anything fancy or with too many bells and whistles, just relatively modern and possibly as future-proof as my modest budget allows.

Also, it absolutely has to be PCI and not PCI-E, since my motherboard only has one PCI-E slot and that's occupied by the graphics card. It also has to be compatible with Windiws 7 64-bit.

As a starting off point, this one caught my eye, mainly because of the moveable antenna. Any thoughts or opinions? As always, thanks for your help. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Edimax-EW-7711IN-150Mbps-Wireless-Relocation/dp/B003LRYXXY/ref=sr_1_9?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1331368927&sr=1-9
I haven't used it, but if I were to put myself in your shoes, I think I might give it a shot.
The mix of (mostly) positive reviews, nice ranking at Amazon, and a price that fits your budget as well as the fact that it's PCI, exactly as you need... seems good.

This is just the second Edimax product I've seen, the first being a nice little router my brother used almost a decade ago to link three 2Mbps connections into one 6Mbps one (or something of the sort). It had some quirks, but did a much more expensive competitor's job decently for about 4-5 years.

Thanks for the input. In that case, unless anyone else chimes in in the near future with a somehow better card for a similar price, or warnings about how this manufacturer isn't as good as they seem, this'll be the one I order.
I'd go with what grape1829 said. There's lots of other sites like Focalprice, Buyincoins, Dealextreme that sell lotsa stuff including PC bits and pieces (including network cards/wireless cards etc)- in a lot of cases from same factories which brand names get their stuff from at much lower prices. However it is a bit of a crapshoot :/.
Oh and avoid TP Link . They are cheap and plentiful ... but really shite cards (friends and family have had bad experiences).

Funny you should mention TP-Link, that's the make of our wireless router. We've probably had it about 3-4 years now and (touch wood) have had no problems with it whatsoever. But yeah, it's looking more and more likely that this is the card I'll go for.

Thanks for setting me straight. I was actually considering getting a TP-Link card on the assumption it would be better/more compatible with the router. That's probably not going to happen now ;)
