Okay. It's time for my sorta-annual birthday giveaway. See, my birthday's in a week and as usual, I want to give you guys presents! Yeah, so I have it backwards, so what? Don't argue with my logic. :P

The deal is simple: I'll probably be buying me some new Metal albums soon and I'd love some recommendations! Go ahead, link me to a youtube video (if possible) of a great Metal song (any Metal, although Death/Grindcore ain't really my scene, man), and you'll be entered to win a game (on GOG.com) of your choice $9.99 or lower! And, to sweeten the deal, I'm especially looking for great female vocalists. You link me to one of them and you'll be entered into the drawing twice!

Wow. It couldn't get any better, could it? Sure it could. I'm also doing a second drawing where another winner will receive a copy of Hocus Pocus. So you could either get a game you really want or one of the most colorful nineties platformers? It's a win-win!

Don't like metal? Shame on you! Well, just don't suggest any country songs and politely ask to be entered and you'll get a shot.

I'll be doing the drawing on Wednesday morning (Eastern Standard Time) so you've got a small window to impress me. Bring on the noise!

I think I'm becoming a Metal dinosaur. I find myself yelling at kids who listen to new metal, telling them in my day we had "Am I Evil' and "Run for the Hills" and ever since then the genre has turned to shit. The other day the local 'oldies station' played "Rainbow In The Dark". I started crying.

Needles to say I'm not entering. :D

Same here, bro.

Kids these days don't know what real metal is all about. It's all about real values, you know, having a good time.

Like drinking, looting and killing. You know, a good time.

Well that's a darn shame, 'cause I love older Metal as much as the new. Ronnie James Dio is a freaking god! Even his work with Blackmore's Rainbow is mind-boggling.

If you change your mind, there's always the opportunity to suggest something older.

Son of a gun, I listened to my first Manilla Road album only this spring! I still have plenty of Metal classics to catch up with!

Not sure if these guys really count as Metal, but they have a lot of really good songs that might count.

Many thanks for the chance :)
This post is not to be in (maybe later...), but if you haven't played Brütal Legend, I recommend it. It's a good game, and at the same time, you'll be hearing a great collection of legendary metal songs from all times... ;)

Also, thanks for the giveaway! ^_^

Interesting. It's a little more Nu Metal from my norm, but they've got some chops. Thanks!

Mmm...Nightwish. I just got into them with their latest album, Imaginaerum and I really like their symphonic style. I still have quite a lot of their back albums to listen to, when their lead was Tarja Turunen. In any event, a great suggestion!

I bought Brütal Legend the day it was released on GOG. I just haven't had the chance to download it yet. I'm still working on my backlog from last October. :P

But it really does sound fricking fantastic!

This is the closing track to quite possibly the greatest melodic death metal album ever created - Autumn Leave's "As Night Becomes Day"

I presume as you like female vocalists that you've heard of The Gathering? This is the first track on their "Nighttime Birds" album

More female vocals - Sub Rosa, from their "No Help for the Mighty" album

Something from New Zealand, just because I am as well :)

And a personal favourite - I don't expect anyone else to actually like this, or even manage to listen to it all the way through, but if I can inspire just one other person to investigate the goodness that is WOLD, my job here is done :D
