Now don't get me wrong:
I am not one of the aweful gamer generation who just buy games because of the graphics and the "innovative" gameplay and sandboxes, but don't realize that the PS3 has no games.
But I am really uncertain if I should buy Bioshock 2 or not. I played the System Shock games(please have them here on gog soon, kthxbye) and Bioshock was mind blowing for me not matter that was the same shit just under water.
Now Bioshock 2 seems to become a more original game since you control the very first Big Daddy and can use the oversized drill. How awesome is that?
But still, I saw the trailer, read the synopsis and visited the website and I feel like I have seen everything already. 10 years after the BS1, you are a Big Daddy revived by the Nazi KZ-Doctor for some reason, the little sisters are back and again little sisters for some reason, there is a Big Mommy opposing you and stealing your bitches for some reason, and Rapture didn't seem to be liberated, just left as a dumping place for the movie "The Abyss" and the splicers(only 5 different types presented constantly) are still in there, alive even without the Adam, for some reason.
Now, I ain't a multiplayer fan, so I don't give a fuck that you will have issues with multi-player on the PC, but I am pissed that the DRM is back with the activation limit, again.
But still, I have the desperate urge to play this game just liek Bayonetta,Assassin's Creed 2 and Prince of Persia Forgotten Sands for PC, so I need your advice. While you're at it, should I order the Rapture Edition to get the 160 pages long artbook on Amazon.co.uk(since it's half price than here on Germany) ?

Big Sister, not "Big Mommy". Also, I think you missed the point of ADAM in the first game. It doesn't feed the splicers. They needed it to maintain their physical health and their sanity after their first hit of plasmids. But that's besides the point.
If you feel that the Artbook is worth it then yeah, go for it :\.

From what I gather, it's basically a retread of the first one but with far superior gameplay and less spectacular set pieces. Less memorable, but more fun while it lasts. That sounds fine to me. It's a shame that we can't have the best of both worlds, but I'm happy they've placed emphasis where it belongs - on the gameplay.
Now about that shitty DRM...

The big mommy was a joke, but thanks for clearing the Adam issue up.
If you're unsure about a game, don't buy the Fucking Expensive Collector's Edition (FECE), as you may be disappointed. I bought the FECE Hellgate: London, and I can tell you where that box is right now. In the trash.
EDIT: Just noticed what the acronym really is, but it fits. Collector's Editions are usually expensive and full of useless junk. I got the World In Conflict box because it had a piece of the Berlin Wall, and I hardly ever look at that piece of history.

The one for Bioshock seems great to me.

Oh yeah, I would love to own a vinyl and everything, but I would really have no use for it. An art book isn't something I would flip through on a regular basis, and I don't need more posters. The only thing I might use is the soundtrack.
I'd rather call it the Fucking Expensive Collector's Edition Anniversary Limited (FECAL).
I like Artbooks, I feel inspired to got through those scetches. And I remember only few games having good Artbooks, for instance the PoP-Games of Ubisoft.
But now to the DRM:
http://forums.2kgames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=55176
"Over the past two days, I’ve fielded a lot of questions and concerns about the DRM for both the retail and digital versions of BioShock 2. Because of this feedback, we are scaling back BioShock 2’s DRM.
There will be no SecuROM install limits for either the retail or digital editions of BioShock 2, and SecuROM will be used only to verify the game’s executable and check the date. Beyond that, we are only using standard Games for Windows Live non-SSA guidelines, which, per Microsoft, comes with 15 activations (after that, you can reset them with a call to Microsoft.)
What does that mean for your gameplay experience? This means that BioShock 2’s new DRM is now similar to many popular games you advised had better DRM through both digital and retail channels. Many of you have used Batman: Arkham Asylum as an example to me, which uses the exact same Games for Windows Live guidelines as us as well as SecuROM on retail discs, and now our SecuROM is less restrictive on Steam.
I know that the variables of PC gaming can be frustrating and confusing, and when you say there is a problem, we listen, and use your suggestions to make things better. Feedback like this does not go unheard, and while this might not be the ideal protection for everyone, we will continue to listen and work with you in the future when formulating our DRM plans."

Is this now a good or a bad sign?

I am still downloading Bioshock 2 at home.
I am really hoping that it will be done once I get home.
Knowing Malaysia's broadband which sucks so bad thanks to government link company ("GLC") monopolizing the entire broadband market, I doubt I'll be able to play it today.

That is not the point of a Collector's Edition. The point of a Collector's Edition is thus:
-To look snazzy in your book case,
-to make you savour the moment when you receive the game,
-to make you happy with its robust yet likely pointless bonus items.
I love CEs with big boxes, regardless of whether I can use the stuff inside or not. It's pretty awesome that I can actually play the Bioshock vinyl, though.

Looks like a piece of shit, drenched in menstrual blood, covered with chocolate and sugar. Sweet and delicious on the outside, absolutely disgusting and abhorrent on the inside.
GFWL, Steam and limited Securom is a fucking joke.

I really wanted to get the WiC box just for a piece of the wall

Could've sworn the Berlin Wall had a ton of asbestos in it. Maybe that's why it's in a plastic bag.
Let me speak this out loud, because I want to get it straight in my head.
Even if I buy Bioshock 2 on Steam, it will force me to register and comply with GFWL activation as well?
