jamotide: Yes I read that, but it does not address my point at all. The question is why they think "it is overdoing it" when it does all they argue for.
I'm not sure where you're getting tripped up, honestly. You can like something and want it used but still think it can be overdone.
About Levelscaling. I like it if its done good. Like in a heavily modded oblivion. You will have your areas with easy lows and some with to strong highs, but some sacling is there like goblin goes between 5 and 10. So from level 5-10 hes with you, afterwards you outmatch them.

That has the great benefit of giving a sense of progression. Your Levelups mean something, you char gets stronger. All the while the original Oblivion scaling was so bad it was even the other way around, that the higher level your char was, the longer and more dangerous the fights against even "weak" creatures became. The same creatures you two-hittet 10 levels earlier.

Steam workshop: 17k mods vs. Nexus: 27k mods.

Khadgar42: Really?
Wasn't aware of that.

So approx. 5k-9k of the mods are ultra violence- / nude- / sex-mods which Steam isn't willing to cope with, huh?
I definitely have to sign up the Nexus then.
So... obviously no need for Steam in that regard too :D

I explained it, they argued for free exploration, not having to fight weak and therefor annoying enemies, not finding too strong loot and not meeting impossible enemies. Oblivion does all those things perfectly. So why don't they like it? Either their arguments are BS, or they dislike level scaling almost as much as me.
Just another question,
in Daggerfall you could run around naked.
[edit] spoiler warning, image may contain real pixels and might be revulsing to dysfuncial people with an underdevloped libido[/edit]

Did they pixelate that or does the Box feature a "Mature" rating because of our utmost inhibited society these days?

If you're 13 and still waiting to have sex or see a real naked lady, I guess that could be a spoiler.

Daggerfall has a child safety feature (ChildGard) similar to Duke Nukem 3D; with ChildGard enabled the player characters have permanent underwear and corpses and blood are censored.

Skyrim and Oblivion already had M ratings, so the collection's overall rating would be M either way, but it would certainly be possible for Bethesda to ship the game pre-installed in ChildGard mode if they chose to do so (or had to do so to avoid a higher rating).

Well said, but considering that here kids have sex ed. at 4th elementary (Age of 8-9 years) It's not really a spoiler.
I'd consider re-buying my tes games, if they remove all DRM and if they fix EVERY glitch/bug . Cleary this is another cash grab by Bethesda.

I both like and dislike level scaling, however, nothing compares to how buggy/glitched oblivion and skyrim are.
It is insane how little testing they put into these two games.

Level scaling is only needed because there is such a huge difference from the weakest of foes to the strongest of foes.
If the game had manageable stats (say max of 18, like good old d&d), then level scaling wouldn't be needed.
^though skyrim no longer has stats... dumbed down to hack n slash game, with regenerating health!

Good luck ever fixing every glitch and bug in games like these. It's pretty impossible.

I know right?
At least they can fix the software bugs and not all the hardware issues.
I know there are unofficial patches that fix 99% of all the quest/game bugs, thank god for fans.
^smart move by Bethesda though, don't work nor pay people to play test your game, release it early with a ton of glitches and bugs... with the game modible so users can fix your game for you!

I'd be fine repurchasing them if they just reissued them DRM-Free on GOG. I've only purchased Morrowind and Oblivion.
