KingofGnG: Dunno.... Delphine's Flashback, maybe?

Wishbone: If we're talking about Delphine, then I think Another World beats Flashback with regard to cinematics. Loading up Another World for the first time on my Amiga is something I remember to this day.

Well, between Another World and Flashback, AW has the best opening sequence imo, but Flashback has awesome cinematics, and for that time, this game had a lot of them. I like the one in which Conrad gets back his memory with the big seat à la Total Recall.
Let's talk more about Delphine Software: Cruise for a Cropse had also incredible cinematics.
Same answer as your last thread from me. Anything from the Westwood C&C or Red Alert series.
Flashback was also stunning in it's day I agree.
I wish more games had beginnings like the original Resident Evil. MAN, that was cheesier than a gouda factory.
SHODAN always sends chills down my spine
The original C&C is easily up there on my list, they're still pretty much the only series that uses live actors for their cutscenes. The channel surfing intro was different, and just how self-aware they were became really apparent at the end of the GDI campaign, when the reporter describes it as an "epic battle." XD
Half-Life 2 impressed me with how naturally the characters looked at you, no matter where you stood.
Condemned: Criminal Origins had really effective cutscenes, it's a horror game that does a very good job of building the mood. I was kind of disappointed at the beginning because it just wasn't frightening, but by the end... It's nothing compared to F.E.A.R... but still...

It could be true, AW impressed me that much too (on the PC). But I think Flashback has a more atmospheric kind of cinematic sequences through all the game. Eric Chai's games are awesome anyway....
