I realize that GOGwon't carry this game as other websites do, but when I went to Bioware I couldn't find a link to buy baulders gate. Is there a website where I can download it? I've heard nothing but good things about the game, and I want to try it out.
There aren't any online distributions of it that I can think of, but it's easy enough to find on Amazon.
If you mean digital distribution then no. Try Amazon, I bought the full collection not long ago for $35 with shipping included. Games are easily worth double that.
ok, just wondering is it sold in any stores?

I doubt it any longer. Maybe try ebay?

Actually, yes. I can find it all over the place here in Norway at least.

I don't think there are any new copies being made, but there are still plenty of unsold copies out there..
You could try asking your favourite game store to search for:
Baldur's Gate
Baldur's Gate: Gold Edition (Original + Tales of the Sword Coast expansion)
Baldur's Gate II
Baldur's Gate II: The Collection (Original + Shadows of Amn expansion)
Baldur's Gate 4 in 1 Boxset (BG1+TotSC, BG2+SoA)
Forgotten Realms Deluxe Edition (the 4 in 1 plus all the Icewind Dale games)
Most stores seem to change their mind about whether or not to use an apostrophe, 2 or II, a colon or brackets, but if your store can search their stock for "Baldur's Gate" or "Forgotten Realms" that should do the trick.
The only copy I can find online in the US which isn't on ebay or amazon is the 4 in 1 Boxset, here.

Bioware never sold it as far as I know. It was made under contract with Interplay that distributed it. Few years back Interplay sold all rights to it's Planscape:Torment game and Baldur's Gate/Icewind Dale game series to Atari who in turn released the Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale game compilations under it's own name. Your best bet is to find the Baldur's Gate Compilation that contains both Baldur's Gate games and their expansions. I've seen it in store not long ago and some net stores still have it in stock here.
eBay and you are good to go. Also, don't even try thinking about direct-downloading it from a specific website: the game was 5 CDs wide, so 700x5 MB = 3,5 GB.... There are alternatives to web, anyway....
I nabbed a BG+TotSC+BG2+ToB combo DVD set on Amazom a few months ago.

That's the same compilation I got, and that's a lot less than I paid for it. Go for it.
