That's missing if you ask me.

Not good enough. I want it listed alongside Action Indie Strategy and so on.

So what would the "arcade" category mean?

When I think of arcade games, it could mean e.g.:

1. The game has no option to save the game and resume later.

2. The game is rather short (due to point #1).

3. The game should be simple enough so that it can be learned quite quickly. After all, you don't want people to feel frustrated having spent lots of coins just to learn the controls.

4. Due to all points above, most probably it is an action game. At least it is not an adventure, or RPG. Yes, I consider also e.g. Tetris and Bejeweled action games, as they mostly test your eye-hand-coordination and reflexes. They are not "puzzle games". The Incredible Machine is a prime example of a puzzle game, and to some extend e.g. 7th Guest and such.

Is that it? I personally don't necessarily see much of meaning to separate arcade games from action games, but oh well.

I disagree. It's better to keep the main genre list small and easy to browse. Beside that there are only a few games I would count as arcade games, all games on gog are based on the ibm-pc versions, which means we get only ports and not the original arcade versions. Because of that an own main category for arcade games would be in my eyes misleading.

I would say it would be better to remove also the Racing&Sports category, you can also list them under action and simulation games. Instead add a link to an overview list with all subgenres, includingracing, sports and arcade.
