But I played Killing Floor when it was free a few weeks ago. It looks pretty and plays smoothly, but not very well paced. Especially in comparison to L4D and L4D2. Also, aside from the actual in-game assets such as the character models, animations and props, everything else from sound to presentation shows off its mod quality roots.
It's fun enough, but there are better free mods out there. I'd consider purchasing only at a lower price.

I got the invite, thank you again acare84. I have a question though as this is my first time using a guest pass in steam. Can I preload the game without starting the limited timer or will I have to activate and download it, then play when its done?

No, when you accept the invite your timer will start counting.

Never played L4D, but this game is awesome!
But I don't think it's worth the $20
Maybe $10 or $15

I only recommend Killing Floor if you have friends who play it (and said friends use voice chat). It is pretty fun with a group of pals chatting away, but it is a tad too repetitive for the pricetag.
