I have way too many game-specific forums marked as favorite to sort through them all in their current alphabetical order. I'd really like to be able to sort them in order of last update.

Sounds like a good idea but what is needed much more is a mark all read button.

My favorited forums list is a looong mess, and i'd love to be able to quickly see which ones are currently actively being posted in.
